| Doesn't work for me. Looks like somebody's aimlessly shoved a superman logo on the front of a rugby shirt. Oh, wait...
But if it generates a bit of publicity and revenue for the clubs and/or the sport, then why the jolly well not? Nobody has to buy it.

| I haven't bought a strip since the John Holmes one. I like this one because its daft and suggests that the game isn't taking itself too seriously. Which considering both sides will be trying to lose , is just as well.
Ordered.

| Nice and convenient for Wigan. They can take Applicado off their shirts now they've gone into admin.
Less convenient for Leeds Building Society, who find themselves relegated to a gimmick on the bottom of the shirt.

I'd imagine they were consulted.

| Be interested to know whose idea this actually was - whether the distributors of Man of Steel have approached the RFL and both clubs have been told it's happening, or the clubs have initiated it themselves.

| Great to see this happening. Game undersells itself, so this is a big link up, even if only for 1 game.

| It's only a big link up if Warner Bros get behind it and arrange some national media publicity outside the RL trade press and websites.
If the only people who know it's happening are existing RL fans, then the only winners out of it are WB who get free publicity for the DVD/Blu Ray.

You know what you're right.
It's only Warner Bros & a symbol recognisable worldwide that's on the shirts of two Super League clubs.
Melbourne linked up through News & 21st Century Fox, Souths through Russell Crowe.
Have you any idea how precious Warner Bros are with allowing use of it's Superman logo?
Sam Tomkins interviewed Crowe & henry Cavill at the UK premiere. This was available to 10m Sky subscribers in the UK.
Warner Bros aren't in this to promote rugby league. it is up to rugby league to do that,
Still, it's better to knock & denigrate than talk up our own Supermen, eh??

| Got an email from the club this morning saying that the shirt will be delivered tomorrow - the day of the game + while I'm at work.
I will be going to the game straight from work so once again "well done Leeds Rugby for managing to fekk-up another shirt delivery"!

When/where should they have delivered it?

| The club shop staff deserve a lot credit for turning over 700 orders for the shirt round very quickly.
The shirts only arrived at Headingley late on Tuesday apparently.

Really - you have a very low expectations if you consider any credit is due - they have received close to £30k of revenue the least they can do is ensure the agreed delivery is achieved.

In what way hasn't agreed delivery been achieved? Who hasn't had their shirt when the club/courier said they would?
I've had emails telling me the delivery day & texts giving me a 1 hour window delivery time by DPD for shirts I ordered the day they went on sale. My shirts are arriving this afternoon.
I've bought for my collection & think that the service & communication from the Leeds club has been absolutely excellent.
The only issue has been the online shop falling over due to the demand on the first afternoon of sale.

| That's why we're the best run club in the league. As well as whatever revenue Warner Bros have paid for th advertising those 700 shirts equate to nearly £33k turnover and £26k profit.
And yet some people see this as a negative?

I never said that Leeds had failed to deliver - all I was saying is why do people think Leeds should get a pat on the back for simply meeting agreed delivery schedules. That to me isn't anything out of the ordinary it is what a lot of companies do day in day out.

Gareth given that VAT will be £5,500 unless the shirts have been provided free and the delivery costs to be free it is very unlikely Leeds will make anything like £26k on this deal

That reads that they haven't kept to something they have agreed.
However you look at it, it's win win.
Massive company involved in UK rugby league for the first time. Great publicity & a big profit in quick time for the club.
