The main point is we don't have mc bannana as coach. Hence all comparisons completely irrelivant!

to be honest mate i was thinking about 08, 09. leeds have danny maggs, burrow, lee smith, brent webb, ryan hall, bjb, sinfield, buderus, ablett, ali, jjb, watkins, hardaker. this says more about sl but senior is still in the top 3 centres in sl. he had no problem out sprinting matt king and others at wire in 2010.
leeds have plenty of quality and its still in its prime. a few senior heads too but the bulk of them are quick strong and very skillful but young.

| Leeds have a strong side at the moment. How long is McDermott's contract? If it's 3 years he'll have to manage the transition which will be a big challenge. Next season will be interesting as Leeds are without Peacock and McGuire early on. Those two were arguably your two most influential players in 2010. Might be a sign of how he'll cope in future years as top players gradually leave.

Certainly going to be a challenging start for him without two quality players avalable to him. But also he has had a better pre season with more ayers than we usually get starting together!

Completely agree mate ,he will be around for the biggest transition in terms of player turn-over for the last 10 yrs and will certainly test his coaching credentials.
I also think it's gonna be crucial who he brings in as his assistants and u20's coach.

Let's have a look at how he coped at London/Quins.
In 5 seasons, they finished 7th, 9th, 9th, 11th and 12th.
Applying the same trend, if he coaches Leeds for 5 seasons, they may finish 4th, 6th, 6th, 8th and 9th under his regressive 'big daft lad' tutelage.

You're late Keith.
I expected you here two weeks ago picking up whoever it was called McNamara "England/GB's worst ever coach" given the Four Nations results.

I didn't deem it necessary to state the bleedin' obvious that Tony Smith would remain the worst ever coach overseeing the worst ever touring squad which included sundry Leeds Rhinos players involvement.
Not even McNamara and his squad could compete with that level of [icarnage[/i.

| Jeff, you seem to have no hardship in running Leeds players down, I wonder do you have the same penchant for other teams, as a real salt of the earth rugby fan would, or do you save your blurb for the club you secretly love?

Trolling in its purest form.
Trolling
1.
Being a pr[ii[/ick on the internet because you can. Typically unleashing one or more cynical or sarcastic remarks on an innocent by-stander, because it's the internet and, hey, you can.
2.
Trolling is the act of purposefully antagonizing other people on the internet, generally on message boards. When done in a moderated internet community, this can result in banning. When done to uptight people such as fundies, this can result in hilarity.
Personally, it just bores me.

| It is of no concern of mine that some people are uncomfortable with facts - the main fact being that McNamara and his touring squad were more successful than the carnage wrought by Tony Smith and his touring squad which included sundry Rhinos players.
I do appreciate however that it must be a huge disappointment to some here that McNamara and his touring squad weren't hammered into embarrassing oblivion in a similar or even worse manner than Tony Smith's touring squad was two years ago.

| Winning in style?? Hmmmm, there are bigger problems to address:
1 - Defence (on and off the ball - markers, scrambling delaney etc)
2 - Penalties (give far too many away)
3 - Looking after the ball (awful)
4 - Not compounding errors, then giving away a penalty!
5 - applying pressure, looking for repeat sets, to break down and wear down opposition.
6 - general kicking game - make sure we are playing at the right end etc.
Playing good stuff is earnt on the back of doing the nitty gritty above.
If you don't do the hard stuff you don't have the right to do the pretty stuff.

That's covered during his interview on Rhinos tv after his 1st day mate.
He says the right things and gives the impression the path we'll tread is well thought out.
