Would you class any of the the players you quoted as Leeds greats, There is only Morley from your list who you could say has made any impression over in Oz.

Do you think the mark of a good team is how many players it exports? I would argue the opposite, players who play at the same club for years is a greater achievment.

I believe Leeds have retained a many of their rising and current stars over the recent years but players do leave for money and to expand their experiences. Plus there is a thing called a salary cap ? As a saints fan you do know what this is........right ?

The list is Leeds players (in the SL Era) to have the intestinal fortitude to give up easy street and test themselves in the toughest comp in the world. Nothing more, nothing less. I wouldn't write off Ellis emulating Morley just yet. It may take him more than the two games to match up to five or six seasons.



Having players deemed good enough by the NRL would be a reasonable indicator of an individuals quality although they have been known to blob spectacularly with the likes of Edmondson, Mason, Sibbit and Thorman.

Thanks, I like to think so. I have no problem with the truth. Garry Schofield and Ellery Hanley both had great spells down under and both were Leeds born and bred.

if you have no problem with the truth then, you will agree the twice leeds beat canterbury and melbourne for the world club was because they came with weakened teams and leeds just managed to beat them, then manly come with a full team and win it, so leeds were not genuine winners after all. also if the games had been in oz leeds would have got battered in each match no doubt.

The truth is in 2005 and 2008 Leeds beat the team placed in front of them and in 2009 they lost likewise. Another truth is Castleford have yet to qualify for such a match.

Morley became attractive to the Roosters after graduating through the Leeds Academy system and several seasons of 1st grade rugby at Headingley. Him being originally from Eccles had little, if anything at all, to do with their decision to take on Tommy Smith.

Ellis similarly became sought after, after spending four seasons at Leeds. Again the value added by Leeds far outweighed an accident of birthplace.
