We lose games, and conceed the points we do simply because of our inability to manage a game. There is nobody there to do it. We have the ball, we make the breaks, we make the yardage, but we have absolutely no idea what to do with the ball, and at the end of sets. We kick it up, but no one attack’s it. Nobody is interested in setting something up and executing. As a result we give the ball away and are back on the back foot.
'"
On this we can agree. Myler has been a massive disappointment. Sutcliffe gets repeatedly slated on here but Myler seems to get off Scot free. Are you still bigging him up him as a brilliant player? After we signed him last year I watched his games for Catalan and everything went through Walsh. Myler was a bit part player, it's becoming easy to see why.

The quality of the rugby most weeks under McDermott has been pretty poor and that is what corporate sponsors were bringing their clients to watch and they had simply had enough.

And sacking BM and appointing Sinfield has improved that? If a change was to be made it should have been done at the end of the season.

| Quote ="Sal Paradise"I don't understand why people think things will change because McDermott has gone. These players now have a culture instilled in them by McDermott i.e. sloppy training, poor adherence to conditioning and a culture where winning wasn't important as they would selected every week. You cannot simply put back 6/8 months of poor conditioning and mindset in 2 months.
It happens in soccer because even the best sides can be frustrated by a well organised defensive side - Look at Middlesborough on Friday - Pulis' whole footballing rationale is about conditioning and not conceding he hasn't got an attacking bone in his body - that simply doesn't happen in RL - the best side will win in the end in most cases.'"
What ever are you talking about? You speak as though you are a regular on the training field saying things does not make them true!
You state "the culture instilled in them by McDermott". Is this the same culture that enabled the team under BMD to win a record number of Grand Finals/Cup wins?

Agree 100%. I've heard/read people saying Myler has been excellent and possible player of the year yet we are a team without structure, organisation, game-management, creativity, a consistently effective kicking game, and good options on the last tackle. These should come from our half backs, but we haven't got a stand off, and the scrum half doesn't provide them either.

| Quote ="Juan Cornetto"He has just gone 20 not 18 which is all part of the hype! Yes he does have bags of potential and I agree fullback is a very difficult position but some posters have been less forgiving with Golding facing the same difficulties and rarely has a bad game.
Golding is the more experienced player and 3 years more physically developed and IMO is the better defensive player and regularly makes several try saving tackles per match. He is also developing his attacking game and is able to play in several positions including defending the middle. Having had an outstanding game in his last outing with two tries and about 4 try saving tackles he is then dropped in favour of Walker who, despite his great promise, is still a developing project. This was a gamble on the part of Sinfield which failed as was the decision to select Thompson over Smith and to keep playing Sutcliffe at stand off.
We are playing for our very SL lives and we should be selecting our best defensive players. I suspect Sutcliffe is only getting in because we do not have a goal kicker (which in itself shows how poor our recruitment strategy has been) but he rarely puts over the difficult kicks and there are several others who can kick the easy ones.'"
He’s actually just turned 19 not 20.
Didnt Golding get injured against london?
To be fair to Sutcliffe his goal kicking is the one thing you can’t give him stick about, since Sinfield joined he’s been kicking very well.

Not to be pedantic, but he is 19 not 20, and only just turned 19, so the previous poster was more correct.
Goulding does not have in his locker in the slightest that quick pass that Walker did yesterday for the try, and nor is he anything close defensively from fullback as you seem to believe.
Physically, there is nothing in them, certainly Golding goes back more in the tackle than the other from a running the ball point of view.
Anyway, fullback is absolutely the least of our problems.

Totally agree, reckon Golding would have saved at least 2 tries yesterday and that would have won us the game. Like to see cameron smith back in the side and Sutcliffe just wants binning off full stop. Thought Thompson played well, more off the same please.
Don’t know what as happened to Singleton but not super league standard at the minute, peteru must start.

This ^
Our soft middle is, I think our attack has actually improved but our defence is laughable.
Also I think that win for Hull KR will keep them up but they were far from brilliant, they did well to come back but their first try was a gift and vai vai should not be scoring from that distance with 3 leeds ‘defenders’ on him

You must be blind if you think we are worse. I think it is just a realisation from some people of just how bad we are, arrogantly not realising it earlier. We have been this bad for months.

What is Walker's date of birth?
On Golding I totally disagree with your assessment and you keep overlooking Walker' defensive errors.
Don't get me wrong, I rate Walker as a big future prospect, however I think his sidestep and passing would be more effective at halfback than running against a wall of opposition tacklers.

If he keeps saying it on enough different threads he thinks it will suddenly become accepted wisdom/fact.
The club doesn't make decisions on the coaching staff based on a phone call from Berry's or Chadwick Lawrence.
