Warrington bound unfortunately.
Need to give a few a rest this week I think, I'd bring Robbie Ward, Rob Mulhern and possibly Elliott Minchella in and give Chris Clarkson, Kylie Leuluai a rest. I too agree that BJB shouldn't come in unless we have injuries in the backline. I'd drop Ryan Bailey and Ian Kirke.

Briscoe Watkins Moon Hall

Really? Jon Wells and Brian Carney highlighted Ablett as being the defender at fault when analysing the try.
Maybe the point is you don't know the game better than two professionals who are regularly praised for their good analysis of the game.

| Quote ="nantwichexile"Oh don't worry...I can see the deficiencies of Sinfield as a halfback, but of the two, Sinfield IMO is still the more integral to the success of the team. He IS still a pretty good DH, captain and tactical kicker. (As first choice place kicker too for the moment - although I see Hardaker been just as good now if not potentially better. Sinfield is missing far more these days). What exactly are McGuire's strengths? He is becoming ever more petulant and is finding it hard to accept his loss of try scoring pace ...Burrow in his position yesterday would probably have scored. He certainly would not have reacted so badly when tackled audaciously from behind by the young Wigan hooker.'"
I completely agree McGuire is not the player he once was but then neither is the captain. Don't forget the whole team has had to be mucked around to accommodate him not wanting to play in the forwards. McGuire still offers quite a lot to the team - he is a good passer, great reader of the game and a better short kicking game than anyone else in the team - I know that is not saying a lot as our kicking game is pretty pathetic for a top side.
Burrow may well have finished that chance but one thing is for certain Sinfield would never have made the break in the first place. To blame all the ills of the side on one of the half backs is unfair IMO - neither covered themselves in glory yesterday and the key try in the game came directly from Green getting past the captain untouched.

Not sure how it was Ablett's fault Green just ran straight past Sinfield?
I don't need TV pundits to tell me what is going on in front of my eyes - I am quite capable of assessing things myself, maybe you should try it?

I did assess it myself, Ablett got done. You might be able to assess things on your own, doesn't mean they're correct.
Maybe Wells and Carney have rose tinted glasses on too?
Or maybe you're wrong?
I'd say the latter is more likely.
Having gone through a gap BETWEEN Ablett and Sinfield (with Sinfield being on the outside) how did he run PAST him? He never reached Sinfield? He ran past and beyond Ablett, it's clear to see.

Ablett didn't push up, he held back lazily hoping green would pass it but instead he dummied and went through the gap ablett left. Don't know how you can absolve ablett of any responsibility.

Green beat Ablett on his outside shoulder, clearly Ablett at fault. Sinfield COULD'VE saved the situation by gambling on what was going on on his inside shoulder, but that only comes about when the guy inside you (Ablett on this occasion) doesn't do his job. Had Sinfield taken a step back inside he'd opened up a gap for Green to work the ball out wide.
Sal's just embarrassing himself quite frankly on this one.

| in an up and slide defence then Ablett was clearly at fault as it was on his outside shoulder.that said sinfield could take some of the blame for buying the dummy easily leaving such a hole.
whatever,I say good try green, well taken.

| Sal-Come off it McGuire butchered at least 1 try when he had Bjb on his inside but got caught then fecked up on the 5th going for glory when everyone watching knew he neither had the pace or the gap.
Mags like many was pretty poor yesterday with ball in hand and as has been pointed out Greens try exposed that right edge not just Sinfield.
Onto the Cods I wold rotate the squad now and go with..
Hardaker
Hall
Moon
Watkins
Briscoe
Sutcliffe
Sinfield
Singleton
R.Ward
JP
Achurch
Ablett
S.Ward
McGuire
Minchella
Mulhern
Kirke
I think that team should have enough to beat a pretty average FC team & give the likes of Kylie & Delaney a week off.

| Seen a couple put Stevie Ward in their starting line-ups (which admittedly should be fine for Hull). But got to say, again not convinced by him ATM. Possibly come good IF he can go into pre-season injury free and hit the gym hard and bulk up instead of the last 2 pre-seasons which have been spent rehabbing serious shoulder injuries.

Send him to Bradford and give baldwinson a go. Ward looked Iike a boy against men in most games particularly last night. Don't think he will be good enough.

He could be good enough. Like I pointed out, 2 pre-seasons ruined by shoulder rehab has spoiled his physical growth. That's the main issue with him, not looking strong enough, that could change though.

| regards Ward, Way too early to be writing him off as not good enough.unfortunately he has had his injury problems and has yet to re establish himself like he did when he first broke through.like the printer says,he needs to bulk up if he is to be a backrower in the long run and should hopefully get a chance in the off season but that hasnt been possible yet due to the nature of his injuries.I would like to see him just get a settled run in the team in the back row if thats his position not messing about with him like the failed attempt at centre.
ward, sutcliffe and singleton are still raw and it will take a few more seasons yet for them to become consistant performer week in week out.I hope the coaching staff have a bit more patience than some people on here or we could end up watching our starlets playing out their best years at other SL clubs!

| Stevie Ward has been disappointing this season but he has shown previously he has the talent. Perhaps he should cover the 9 spot rather than Clarkson as he has good hands and was previously a half back.

Can't argue with any of that. Has the potential hope he gets to realise it. Still have a little concern with his shoulders though. Seen him a few time getting up of the ground holding his shoulder gingerly. Might be nothing and a little paranoia on his part after having two bad injuries to his shoulder. And little knocks always occur, just a worry with his recent history

Again a decent shout. Good hands, can tackle, for me clarkson is a tad dissapointing for me cannot see his long term future at Leeds. Approx 3yrs ago looked to have potential ran some good lines but he is now just a grafter and we have plenty of those already

He hasn't really had much continuity with playing centre, then on the bench, then injuries.
If he can get the game time together, he'll look much better.

| The stats from the Wigan game do not make very good reading at all IMO for the substitutes of Bailey, Kirke, and Singleton.
I don't know how long they were on the park for, which could play a part in one, two, or maybe all three. I know in Singleton's case twice he offloaded, which of course restricts the carry in metre terms.
Kirkes stats are absolutely pathetic, if truth be told. Really really unacceptable stats for a player at this level. 14 tackles, 3 misses, 3 carries at only 4.33m per carry, and one error to boot. There is definitely more cause for concern there, than there is for BJB, or at least should be.

| Regarding BJB, he made 11 carries for 85 metres.
Hall made 25 for 202
Hardaker made 20 for 150
Briscoe made 152 from 17 carries when the sides last met a few weeks ago. In fact he's made over 100 metres in 10 of his 11 games (6 times going past 150 metres).
The only time he failed to hit 100 was the previous week vs Cas when he only got 87 from 12 carries.....
But even BJB only made 82 from 15 carries in that game although he got the plaudits for getting the two tries.
Briscoe's two lowest games in terms of metres made were the Cas game and against Widnes (113), the two occasions he's been switched to play on the left to accommodate BJB on the right.

| BJB is fast becoming a scapegoat because he is leaving. The kid is and remains a great player, very exciting with the ball and a running chance. I suppose it is sometimes convenient to pin the crap to the back of the guy who is leaving...
Briscoe should come back in for Hull, and if Watkins isn't fit then Ablett should play Centre as he is the most competent alternative we have.
Most of all we need to dominate their pack (shouldn't be too hard) so our slow halves get the maximum time possible to play their game.

| I don't understand or agree with the people who don't want bish never to play again for us, yes he's leaving at the end of the season, but he is seeing out his contract just like lee smith in 2009.
IMO he deserved to retain his place in the side for the Wigan game after his performance against cas. That said I believe briscoe deserves to come back in for him this week.
