| Leigh will doubtless coming flying out of the blocks tonight. If they get a 2 score lead I think it will take some hauling back. Last week's game v saints had some fierce defence. Interesting bit for me is how Leeds go on attack. Leigh won't have to deal with The speed of ball movement and handling that cas produced last week. Would be happy with any kind of win.
I can't see Leeds scoring many unless Leigh's discipline is poor and they give away a high penalty count.

| We do not needs seats or a covered end we are as happy at Cas as we are at say Wigan , we will swell your crowd as we do others . Enjoy the game , i have no doubt you will offer a stern test to us and most clubs that come to your place but can't see you winning enough to avoid the middle eights as your away record will be poor

| It is an awkward one to be the first visitors there on there return to SL, they will be well up for this probably more so than their opening match last week. On the flip side one advantage of going there this early is that they won't have gotten use to the step up to SL matches yet so will still be finding their feet. Leigh's discipline was dreadful in the Middle 8's match so they need to improve on that big time. We could do with starting well and taking a lead and silencing the crowd, if we let them get off to a good start it could be a tough night.

Leigh have 5 GRADE A (PRICED) games, they are Leeds, Wigan, St Helens, Warrington & (strangely) Widnes....where it's £22 for home fans to 'stand up' in the North stand, and £25 to sit down in the other 2 or 3 stands. The (adult) prices for the other games are £20 & £23. So basically we have increased the price by £2 for the teams that will bring the most fans (apart from Widnes)

| I am waiting for a Leeds fan to confirm what the cheapest Leeds v Leigh away supporters seat at Headingley is? Standing up is no longer an option. I am hearing either £28 or £32
However I have to admit, even at £32 my family may grimace but that price will not detract me personally from [isupporting[/i my team.

| Quote ="Gotcha"But that is just rubbish Juan. We had this last week before the Saints game. He has done more than anyone else in preseason to earn that shot, so just ridiculous for someone on the outside to say he hasn't done enough this week, just to defend the coach for not picking him.'"
It does not follow that if someone has a different opinion to you it is rubbish. Baldwinson was rewarded with a bench place last week against the saints and di not let himself down but neither did Mullally.
This week for our second match we have a different set of circumstances and because Baldwinson was not selected does not mean he was dropped. He is being brought into the first team squad and like Singleton before him will be underplayed until he matures for his own good. It is how young props are brought on because of the extra physicality. The coaches are obviously giving the older and more experienced Mullally first shot at the vacant prop position and this seems a logical move. You have a history of attachment to this player and if you put your loyalty aside you will see it is the obvious selection to start the season with.

I agree we need to get clinical with our finishing. It is a potential banana skin sort of a game and we need to be up for a tough start.

| whilst I, and you may not believe it, agree with you regarding baldwinson, I think we simply needed a second rower on the bench.
however with regards to the lack of any runners, dummy or not, this happened last year too. is this not down to the coaching staff not doing the work on the training field?

It's not an opinion though is it? Otherwise you would have said in my opinion. You have made an assumption and have said it is correct. You said he hadn't done enough to warrant selection. Are you part of the coaching set up? No, so you are just making an assumption.
An assumption that is not backed up by performance in preseason and limited game time last week. I have no attachment whatsoever to this player, so think you might be mixing up your posters there, and making an incorrect assumption. Not that it would be relevant. I do have an attachment to some other players, and will gladly state that when they appear, but he isn't one. I was basing an opinion purely on the matches he has played preseason, the only way in my opinion to judge selection warranted.

You say we need to get clinical with our finishing but that implies we are blowing good opportunities to score. We could have camped on Saints line for an hour last week (hell we nearly did!) and not stretched their line. We looked far more likely to score points from long range than close to the opposition line.
Lets hope it is just ring rust and we see a big improvement on that this week, at the very least the last tackle kicks should have been worked on and rectified, they were amateur level at best.

Everything posted on here is opinion and we all believe we are correct. I will be more than happy if Baldwinson blasts his way into the side and proves he is as good as the best. However prop is the one position where I believe youngsters should be brought in slowly for their own career interests. It could well be that BM wants to take a look at Ormanroyd too but again the same rules should apply to him too and it should not reflect badly on Baldwinson if this happens soon.
Performances in Preseason games against second grade opposition are interesting but are not a reason to drop your first choice experienced players.
Forgive me if I have misread you Gotcha but I seem to recall you shouting the odds in favour of Baldwinson and against the club before he went down under which seemed to indicate a bit of an attachment.

Is it a game changer? It's a loss, but shouldn't really effect the result.
I think with the fixtures looking at our first five before season started. Four wins would have been a big improvement on last year, where Leeds should be, better than the majority expect, and where those with eternal optimism would expect to be. Three wins would be what the majority expected, and the average team we think, but doing a job. Two wins would be more regression and inexcusable. Today will be win number one.
