I was replying to Tad who said if we get one more win Southampton can`t catch us.
The number of wins for each of us is a maximum.
Clearly if they win all theirs we can only get 6 and if we win all ours they can only get 12.

Southampton looking good again aren't they but are playing pressure free. But, we've just to focus on our own games and stop worrying about others. If Leeds do win the next 2 we would be 4 clear of Ipswich as they don't play until we've played both Midds and QPR so that puts a lot of pressure on them.

Think ideally we probably want Leicester Southampton game to be a draw.

Agree totally mate. There’s a pureness about it.. teams with very little ego and passionate fans at all clubs who don’t turn up to games with half n half scarves and film all the game on their mobiles! No VAR and the game is better for it. Just wish it didn’t cripple teams financially

Agree with all of that, unfortunately the big money is in the premier league. That’s what the American investors have in mind. Unfortunately if we don’t achieve promotion, we may suffer losing some decent players.

If Leeds don't go up this time it could be a long time in the wilderness unless the 49's are prepared to throw a money at it.

They just need a run of the ball and some 50/50 decisions to go their way. They have shown they have the ability to beat all the teams in the league - Southampton apart. Farke needs to show some bottle stick to tried and tested and deliver.

Watching the PL the skill level and speed at which these skills are delivered is on a different planet to the Championship. It is no surprise that the bottom 3 in the PL were the top 3 in the Championship and almost visa versa the previous year. I suppose its quality over competitiveness. It must be more seeing your team win the majority of their games than losing the majority.

Yeah agree. we have to be up there, the club has spent best part of 2 decades outside the premier league and it needs to change. I am sure it will as the new owners seem to be very sharp. feels like a well run club now with a lot of financial clout.

Conversation for another day but probably 2 of Summerville, Gnonto, Rutter would be sold. I think there's no way Summerville stays as i think a good premier league club will pay good money for him. Be a crying shame as we could build around him in the Prem... but of course this is all hypothetical as hopefully we won't need to

They've 2 seasons to go back up before serious financial restrictions will apply making it very difficult. No need to panic this season if we don't go up but obviously makes it that bit harder next year, having said that, the teams coming down aren't as financially strong at Leicester Southampton or Leeds so you could argue the quality won't be as high at the top end

If they don't go up there will be key players leaving which will make the task harder. Hopefully they can win the last three games and that should be sufficient. Burnley and Sheffield Utd will be no pushovers - Luton will be an interesting team to watch will they be another Wimbledon?

Thats where the current PSR rules aren't fit for purpose. They are being abolished but need to help clubs have a crack at the top clubs when they can afford to.

Gruev looks good enough as does Rutter, he has a lot of potential. I’d sign Connor Roberts up at RB too. Also need an upgrade at 10 or at least a quality option there off the bench. I think James looks like he’s now capable of making it in the prem too.

I would go with Gray, Rodon, Ampadu, Gruev, Gnonto and Summerville.
Possibly Kamara but I have doubts as he`s struggled recently.
Both James and Rutter failed in the Prem before and I don`t think Rutter will have the luxury to do what he does/did in the Championship.
Likely we will need upwards of 10 players should we go up.

Looking at the remaining fixtures and Leicester have 3 home games from their last 4 whilst Southampton have 3 away games from their last 4.
And of course Southamprton play both Leicester and us.
All very exciting and no good for my heart!

For the neutral football fan ,this end of season battle is compelling. Nail biting stuff if you’re fans of any of the top four teams.

Its been an absolutely bonkers season with x4 teams panning just about every other.

could be anyone from the top four who finally get over the line as champions.
