It's quite easy not to miss tackles when you are hiding. He made many errors, maybe not stat ones, but ones that cost us from his no idea approach.

Well I guess last night at least killed the "yeah, but he's a half-back not a hooker, he should be playing there instead" argument.

His most meaningful contribution was the kick that Denny Solomona booted dead from his own 20m line. Struggling to think of anything else positive he did in the game.

To balance it out a bit, his kicking game is far superior to that of his half back partner last night. Christ we would have been in an even worse position. Burrow did also do a decent kick in the first half, after a couple of McGuire specials.

Being told you have a better kicking game than Danny McGuire is like finding out you have more legs than Heather Mills.

Burrow has never gone into hiding, whether in attack or defence. Critism of his performance overall may be valid but to suggest he was hiding in defence is wrong.

So that makes it right I suppose like the majority that were after McGuire a short while ago



He was not hiding and made more tackles than has half back partner or all of the back 3 added together. While not being a dominant display you could name half the side that actually had a much more negative effect on the result.

All half backs are hiding in defence, that's why they are out wide.

So why single out Burrow?

Because his name came out of the hat this week at the post match meeting of the gloom club.

Because the thread is about Burrow, and the post I was responding to is about Burrow. The point was about how few missed tackles. Of course with making less tackles you are going to make less missed.

I suspect the "hiding" comment may have been more in relation to his completely anonymous performance with the ball, which consisted of either just farming it on or running down a blind alley and dragging defenders on to team mates in the process.

Not it wasn't about how few he missed - because Burrow didn't miss any tackles

Wardy 1 in 11.25
Sinny, Mags and Yates were 1 in 9
Sutty 1 in2 and Handley 1 in 1.5

This season Burrow has a better average of missed tackles than Watkins, Mags, Sutty, Moon, Kylie, Hall, Handley and Hardaker and the last 3 have all made fewer tackles - so have they been hiding too?

Aiton's running from dummy half was one of the better aspects of our play last night.

Burrow put in a couple of good kicks but that was all in attack in reality.

No the quote said its easy not to miss tackles when you are hiding. It was not in relation to his performance with the ball.

He might not have missed any tackles but he was awful last night, just awful.
His confidence has gone, along with his speed, and Leeds need to find a way to move him on ASAP.

Burrow and Mc Guire, had pace during their 'golden years'. With age both have lost that pace, no shame, it happens to the best of us.

Whilst McGuire has the ability to pick a pass, as he did for the Keinhorst and Hall tries last night, Burrow does not. Time to say thank you and goodnight Robert.

I proved your point wrong by pointing out that 3 players made fewer tackles yet more misses than Burrow and this included your pal Hardaker who has more than double the number of missed tackles than Burrow.

Burrow's defence is very good for a guy his size. But he is what he is. Really small. Any tackle he does make Will be followed by a quick play-the-ball. He can't defend at Hooker, hence the restructuring of the line to accommodate him. You can just about carry his defence in the scrum-half position behind a dominant pack (though if you look at the modern game, as opposed to 10 years ago when Burrow was in his pomp, 7s regularly make 20+ tackles per game), but for this an undersized player would still have to compensate with more attacking impact than Burrow currently provides.

You proved nothing, as is the usual case. What you showed is a stat that showed Burrow made 12 tackles last night with no misses (which by the way I disagree with). You proceeded to say he averages 12 tackles with no misses, and compared it to two players who made a tiring 46 and 45 tackles respectively, but missed 4 tackles. You for some strange reason then decided to point out that as an average they miss more per tackle than Burrow.

This stupidness though is somewhat mitigated as we can now see you are consistent in your complete disregard of fatigue on a professional sportsman, as we have seen in the other threads.

Where Hardaker comes into it I don't know, unless he missed his seat in the stand last night.
