Don't know the answer to this but how big a say does he have in recruitment? If it's not very much then a new coach os pointless. If he does have a big say in it then agree he's done a poor job over the preseason.

I struggle to see us beating Cas. They were far better than us at Wigan on Thursday and they'll be up for it, as they always are, against Leeds. I haven't seen Tolouse yet but I'm sad to say we currently look the poorest side in the league.

Agar's press conference after the game was insipid, uninspiring and full of the usual word-salad of phrases used in the NRL a decade ago. Plus lots about him having no idea why we are bad as we look OK in training. Assuming the players actually want him to stay, what on earth does that suggest he tells them during the week or at half time?

If Agar has a big say in recruitment then he cannot be taken seriously as director of rugby. Our lack of props, speed and re-signing of hacks has all continued or got worse since he became coach. If the opposite then we'll struggle to get the kind of coach we need. Any self-respecting coach would want as much free rein as possible with respect to signings.

I genuinely don't see the point of getting in a new coach who won't have the power to change pretty much anything they see fit - assistants, backroom staff and players.

We also don’t seem to have any identity as a team, weve got no redeeming features. Take a team like Hull KR, yes they lose a fair few but they’re known as entertaining, Saints are relentless in everything, hull are inconsistent but at least throw up some good performances and have skill in connor and some big forwards.

We’ve literally got nothing at the moment.

But we are fully vaccinated! People were very proud of that and somehow saw it as a marker of how well the club is run……..

I agree Agar needs to go. I think he initially did a good job of turning around a sinking ship. However, he was never the man to make us challenge again. The whole thing just sums up GH’s decision making these days.

I have no faith whatsoever in the next head coach appointment being a good one.

Writing as an interested onlooker,Leeds recruitment has been terrible. Watsons first big decision at Fartown was to can Sezer,Wire released Austin,yet Tui is setting the world alight again.
The pack has the big names but they’re not playing as they should.
As you’re all saying a ‘top down’ reset is needed but a team with your heritage shouldn’t be in perpetual rebuilding mode.
The coach needs to be changed,obviously,but that alone won’t make enough difference

When Tui joined Leeds he was overweight. That was never addressed. When he left he lost it. I wouldn't be surprised to see Hurrell lose some weight too now he's left. We pick up too many niggling injuries and we aren't drilled enough. All down to a poor coach.

You just couldn’t imagine a club like Saints ever being in this position. Why do we accept it? GH seems to be waiting for the Golden Generation mk2. He’ll be waiting a long time.
