I now think that Curry is a breed of goat, you know, like a Saddleback pig or Foie Gras goose, except all it eats is curry. A bit like a French Veal calf only has milk or a Wagyu cow fed on beer.
The Curry Goat is raised on a diet of tikka masala and tandoori chickpeas.

Never been in the Restaurant itself but will probably pay a visit sometime this year. It will be a new experience taking my own wine somewhere other than a friends house.
I've never had anything from tiberio and don't even know what food they served. Did they serve Indian food?
I'm a big of gigis in Pudsey though

Tiberio closed down a long time ago was where the Indian is now. Sort of French English mix. Believe the people who used to have tiberio now have 114 the arch which is nice

Sounds fair enough to me, at least they acknowlegded their failings. Overall places like GBK are way overpriced anyway and add 'value' by doing different things like server your burger on a piece slate, or in faux burger wrappings. Usually a little small. Would rather have a larger burger from a pub, or make my own

I must admit the current trend for some of these places to serve up food on slates, and other materials is odd.
I ordered some sandwiches in a cafe in the usa last month, these came on a wooden board with a long handle.
Also they cut the sandwiches up in small segments,as they say in the usa go figure .
As the eagle commented it always comes with a hefty price tag, and these were pricy.
After that I went back to frequenting the traditional American diner , plates the size of rugby balls and lots of cheap wholesome food. Probably too much but that's another storey for another day.

I was invited to 114 arch for my aunts birthday not too long back but was too ill to attend. I'll probably give it a try sometime.

| Gourmet Burger Kitchen is only worth visiting for one thing: the milkshakes.
If you want a nice burger then I recommend either TGI Fridays (I'm obsessed with French Canadian burger atm) or Rib Shakk in the corn exchange. Both have much better portions for the price whereas GBK burgers are minute in comparison.
Has anyone tried Handmade Burger Co. in the Trinity yet?

Salvos has been around forever (I remember going as a kid) and the reason why it hasn't gone to the wall like so many other restaurants is because it's really good.
Some of the best pizza you'll ever have.

| I went to Cielo Blanco (mexican restaurant) in the Trinity a couple of weeks ago.
For £10.95 you can pick any 3 things from a pretty extensive menu, and it was delicious.
Definitely recommend the baby back ribs and the chorizo sausages.

haven't tried Handmade Burger or the Rib Shakk yet but will try. I obviously have less disposable earned income than Damo.

You jest but on a percentage rate Damo's disposable income will outweigh all of us.

| Anyone eaten at The Wharfedale in Arthington?
Been recommended, but wanted to seek a second opinion.
Reacquainted with a long lost friend the other week, first visit to a TGI Fridays in years. Went to the one in Trinity, and have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Good service, food was spot on.
It's not cheap, and it's not somewhere quiet to go for a cosy romantic meal - even on a Wednesday teatime it was busy - but I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

| TGI's are fine, never been let down in one really, if you want to be snobby its hardly the height of sophistication but it does what it does very well.

| I'm booked in Gusto's on Saturday, another place that does what it does well, I hate that "Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares" program on TV especially the ones from America, but what he always tells them is very true, keep a simple menu and then do those dishes really well - works every time.

| I had a decent classic Irish beef burger plus two beef and red wine mini pasties at O'Neill's in Leeds today which was at a good price too. You see I'm not all sy fancy pants restaurants.
Has anyone been to Design House Restaurant in Halifax? I'll be having a six course meal there when my mate books us all in.

Slightly better than Nandos, you get the impression in a TGI's that someone may have actually prepared most of the meal that you're eating even if they had to follow posters on the wall to do it, rather than simply have a chimp put it in a microwave.

Is it the Generous Pioneer? I've been there before and thought it was ok although that was a few years back.
