Last night sky sports reporting links with David furner again. Leeds commented saying they’re not prepared to announce anything on new coach just yet.

I’d be delighted if this is true

Not as delighted as the other options available. Look at the panthers since Griffin went. He would be a better option than Furner. Would still prefer Demetriou to Furner personally.

Furner still a good appointment though.

I was told today by someone I trust that we have offered the job to David Furner but as yet he hasn't agreed to come and has indicated that he would want a bigger salary than offered to come over.

Suppose we need to secure our SL status before any further offer is made.

Personally I'm not sure how I feel about another forward as coach.

I would agree I think we need a really assistant from the NRL who has a passion for youth development and who is determined to make a name for himself. It would be great if he also knew a good conditioner - these players especially the forwards look overweight

It looks a massive job to me. We were woeful yesterday. Defence was a joke at times. They look so unfit. My choice would be Griffin but I think they are all a gamble.

Could be difficult to get anyone to agree to the job as it is, essentially Sinfield’s scapegoat!

Leeds is a big rugby league club and not many coaches would turn the job down if we are honest.

Also I would have thought the fact the Sinfield would do all the press and things like that could be appealing to a coach? Not many of them seem to like this aspect of the job

Sinfield is as near a household name as a RL player will get and the club know this .When the new coach is appointed Sinfield will resume his role of Director of Rugby with responsibility for recruitment and player retention and speaking to the Media . I personally think once the ship has been steadied I.E the development etc He will be the next CEO as GH retires as club president

This is exactly what will happen. I don’t think for a minute that GH actually expected BMD not to see the season out. My understanding is that GH made the decision to bring Kev in to replace him as he retires over the next 12-18 months, and Brian didn’t want to work under Kev, so issued a back me or sack me. We know the rest.
