I will agree with you on all of that apart from the gutted bit, he has limited ability and has struggled in the Championship & would more than likely have been released at the end of this season so good luck to the lad for getting what could turn out to be a 2 1/2 year deal and probable 1st team football week in week out. I would sooner have Bromby as the utility player on the bench or stepping in when needed, like tomorrow if O Brien is ruled out.

Good luck to Hughesy but i'm glad he's gone. Far too slow to be a FB and not good enough to play in out midfield. Did a job for us while he was here and Larry obviously liked him but i'd rather see Bromby filling in instead of him.
We are also keeping Johnson now according to Grayson unless a good bid comes in for him. He's prepared to lose him for free at the end of the season. Says he's played the best football of his career since the contract offer was turned down.

2-2 not a bad result. Least we don't have to go back down for a replay the game had 3 floodlight failures!

Definitely a game of 2 halves, 1st half we were very poor - very lethargic and fortunate to go in at half time only a goal down - McCartney gave away a stonewall pen for handball which unbelievably the ref & lino both missed. 2nd half we were totally dominant with the only blip being Bruce out-muscled by Utaka to score, unlucky not to go on and win as we had some good chances towards the end of the game.

Tip for anyone thinking about visiting Portsmouth - think again, it's a sh[ii[/ithole.
