| Officially the last time we started a match with
6 - McGuire
7 - Burrow
13 - Sinfield
Was a 3 game spell in June 2011 shortly after McGuire came back from his knee injury. We got battered by Saints away, comfortably beat HKR and edged to a win over Crusaders.
Before that the previous occasion was the infamous the 2010 playoff game at Wigan when McGuire messed up his knee.

| Harsh truth, but there isn't the appetite to support a Super League club in Salford. There just isn't.
Won't matter how much money Koukash throws at it or who they sign, they won't pull more than 4-5k home fans for every game tops. Entirely reliant on away fans to pull a decent crowd.
Even in their heyday of the 1970s, they weren't one of the best supported sides in the competition. That area is economically deprived and football mad, and you aren't going to draw fans away from the Manchester clubs to come and watch rugby league with their small amount of disposable income. They're a project destined to spend eternity in the middle 8 in a 75% empty stadium.

Yawn. My c0ck is bigger than yours. Boring.
Why are rl "fans" so obsessed with crowds? If we had 15 years of success and still no crowds I might be slightly worried, as it is, I'm not.

great win today in absolutely appalling conditions, but it's another 2 points on the ladder
i thought that it was a very poor turnout from the home sides fans today and i would guess that their were as many rhinos fans in the stadium as their were home fans,
what do the salford fans want?
imo koukash should have bought the bradford bulls rather than salford as at least they can pull in the fans when given a decent side to support
i'll bet that the bulls could have got the Doc his desired support on the terraces to back his undoubted ambition if his large financial investment into salford was given to them instead?
sadly i just can't see salford attracting many more fans whatever the side does on the field as it is in strong football heartlands and not a community that knows much at all about rugby league,it's a loss leader sadly
more importantly how long will koukash be willing to put his money into a bottomless pit without a return on his investment?

Thanks for your "concern", we had around 8k last week, it seems Leeds aren't as big a draw as Wigan

| Hardaker was very good under the high ball as was Handley. Golding looks very nervous.
Overall good win with the crap weather, Easter schedule and a few injuries.

Id love to see 8k+ crowds at Salford, unfortunately in the next year it ain't likely to happen. Trying Salford history and attracting big crowds

Whilst your post is intended as a dig at Leeds, it only highlights how poorly Salford are run. Let's face facts, Leeds are current league leaders, missing several key players which added to the possibilty of a lose for us, the team who has been most successful over the last decade which any aspiring club (for example Salford) should inspire to be like......and we "aren't a big enough draw"
If Salford can't draw for Leeds....then just look at most of the other clubs in SL and realise how big a problem that is for you.

why can't you attract fans?
you would expect that the biggest increase in attendances would occur when your club moves to a brand new stadium would you not?
im pretty sure that the saints and warrington both increased their crowds after their moves to new stadiums
more importantly for you you salford fans is what else it will take to make you want to go watch the side every week?
after all your fans havn't supported either a new stadium or even a huge investment in players have they?

| Some embarrasing comments from Leeds fans on here, and at the game. It's easy being a Leeds fan. Slagging off Salford fans because their stadium has certain issues (as if Headingley is perfection) and their crowds aren't huge is pathetic.
A decent win but not a great performance. Golding was a bit of a concern at times, when Hardaker was at the back the whole thing seemed a lot more certain. But Handley stood up well again and the win was all that mattered in those conditions really.

Golding went well in very harsh conditions, kids only 18 and only his second game. That wind was shocking. Was right behind him when they had the try disalllowed first half. The ball stopped dead in mid air and went back and sideways at great speed. As Clarke would say uncatchable.

Jp - 150 metres, and 43 tackles with no misses
and Ward - 121 metres, 39 tackles and just one miss
couple of really good stints there
and good to see Handley with a high work rate with carries, even if he's not the biggest

As young wingers go he's not small at all, he's got the frame to pack on a fair pit of timber I think. He reminds me of a young Hardaker in that respect.

Agreed. Leeds fans are very lucky that they support such a well run and succesful club. Who you support is purely an acciden of your birthplace, unless you're a glory hunting bandwagon jumper; and w have a few of those.
I've stood on terraces in attendances of less than 7k watching Leeds teams on a par with this Salford team. I suspect those who feel superior about our attendances weren't stood there with me.

while he's definately tall enough and has the frame to put on some muscle in the future, the official website lists him as being about 12 and a half stone at the minute (not sure how accurate it is, mind), so still a lot smaller than most first team wingers
certainly doesnt seem out of place though, and obviously doesnt mind doing the work either
