Got to feel sorry for the lad....the club negotiates a four bluddy year contract with him along with the prestige of the no.9 starting jersey then ignores him in favour of a pseudo starting hooker, before then also bringing in another guy on loan adding further insult to injury.

Was the club really not professional enough to realise the lad wasn't worth what he was offered: it must have known his likelihood of success after his being with the club for so long ? Who makes these awful decisions ?

As this is a rumours thread, someone on the Hull board reckons Willie Manu to Saints has collapsed and he's signing for Leeds.

Am I right in thinking that Hull paid a fee to Cas so they could have permission to speak to Arundel ahead of the anti-tampering deadline? Clever bit of business if they did.

A five year contract extension would be interesting for someone like Ryan Bailey, these one or two year extensions years in advance of their present deal expiring much less so.

Bailey has only really put in his best years when a contract is on offer at the end of it. Renewing each year has worked wonders for Bailey.

You wouldn't want to give a 5 year contract to a forwad after 28. Two's and three years are fine.

I dont think for one minute Ryan Bailey would be offered a five year deal by Leeds (two year max as usual for him) but he was the only player left of any note whose deal expires at the end of the season.

Expect another 1, 2 or 3 year contract extension for a player going nowhere in any case.
