This proves beyond all doubt that chief scout is a complete fookin gomper.'"
See what i mean. You get so defensive about your world class players, you go looking for quotes.
The truth is Ablett is not top 4 quality. He'll be on little money and does a plodders job for you. What do you want Mclennan to say ? If anything it proves that Mclennan realises most people think his sh*t.

But hey they was part of a winning Grand final team so they must be absolute quality. Wish we had Ricky Bibey and Anthony Stewart back, we'd soon win our trophy back.'"
And Mcguire is just a support player, Burrow is a one trick pony, Peacock is past it, Buderus is past it, Ali is past it, Kylie isnt that good, Bailey is just a cheap shot merchant, Webb cant tackle, Smith is over-rated, Diskin is too slow, blah blah blah,
Leeds have squad, it has proved over the last 6 years to be the best squad in the league, Ablett, and Bailey arent bit part players in this squad, they are integral parts,
Bailey hasnt won 2 Challenge Cups, He has won 4 grand finals, he has won 2 LL shields and 2 WCC. He has been picked by 3 international coaches, (Noble, Smith and Mclennan)
Carl Ablett has won 3 GFs by the age of 24, playing in 2 different positions (centre, and 2nd row)
it is the quality of these players which has been the difference between leeds and the rest
most people will accept that Kirke is a squad player who sometimes gives us a lot, others not so much

Mike Bennett ring any bells ? He kept a Kiwi international out of our 2006 team (Vinnie Anderson). Yet Mike was a hard working plodder, a Tim Jonkers type of player. Just like Ablett.

"Our trophy" ?? Really?? You genuinely think that? Last I heard, the RFL owns the trophy, and the Grand Final winners get to borrow it each year. It just so happens, Leeds have been borrowing it for the past 3 years, despite being beset with distinctly average players all over the pitch - remarkable really.....
Perhaps though, if it genuinely does belong to Saints, Leeds should be investigated for theft, as well as for having cruel fans who mercilessly taunt ugly ginger prop forwards. Jeez, some big fines coming our way soon!!

NO - the best team is the one with the most points on the board - period, end of.
This is absolute, indisputable, irrefutable.
Regardless of how either side played, the better team is the one that won the game.

Anderson made more appearances in the two seasons he was there, than bennett did, He played 17 and 23 games, Bennett played 25 and 6.
Ablett played 29 games in 2008, and 22 in 2009.

As much as it pains me to dispute anything negative about the insidious individual Pryce, the 2005 Grand Final would, sadly, like to disagree with you. Like he does nowadays, though mainly he drifts out of them.

Ablett is one of the first names on our team sheet and, IMO, may well go on to international honours. He is far from a plodder.
Kirke aspires to be a plodder.

| I seriously can't believe some of the stuff I've read on here so far. Every board has idiotic posters, but this Chief Scrote feller can't be serious? Fair enough, you don't have to think every Leeds player is a superstar, but to just make stuff up to try and prove your invalid argument, well, its just embarrassing.

On point 1, my memories of the 2005 final are not that great and I've never watched the game since. However, my recollection of the game was that we were simply out gunned up front and Pryce scored a crucial try of the back of that dominance. I certainly wouldn't describe his performance as "commanding" or as "taking the game by the scruff of the kneck". Still, we all have our opinion and providing it doesn't belong to the Scouse Dib Dobber, I'm prepared to respect anyone who expresses one intelligently.
On point 2, my eyesight isn't that great so I am happy to stand corrected. Either way, without the other assist we lose.

Not my opinion on Pryce in the 2005 Grand Final win V Leeds just a recollection that he was awarded the Harry Sunderland Trophy that day.
