I'm not sure many people rate Hughes as a great full back.

I was surprised he got a new deal but suspect he's cheap, decent cover and a good guy for the squad morale.

Hughes was woeful for large parts of the season. He did a job playing out of position but we need better than him in the Championship and i hope he doesn't get anywhere near the side next year. He's far too slow to be a full back, offers nothing going forward, isn't a great tackler and his positioning can be poor. He'll get embarrased if he plays, shouldn't of got a new deal but he will of being cheap and that's what Leeds are all about now when it comes to fees/wages etc.

I doubt we could afford his wages he signed a new lucrative deal not long ago when Liverpool and Chelsea were showing an interest.

Suppose the hope is that Snoddy will have told him that coming to Leeds and playing week in week out in the Championship would not harm his international prospects and might even be better for him than being on the fringes in the PL.

MASSIVE rumour - Hooper has signed for Leeds for £1.5m on a three year contract.

Just because someone on 606 said he'd heard his agent on talksport last night saying he'd signed for leeds doesn't make it a massive rumour mate.
If you read the thread further down another poster says he was listening to talksport most of the night and heard nothing!

LOL at everyone jumping on the Hooper bandwagon. It was I who called for the signing of Hooper at Xmas when everyone was creaming themsleves over Billy Sharp.

It's hardly jumping on a band wagon many people rated him but thought he was out of our price range whereas Sharp was seen as a possible target with the money we'd receive if Beckford was sold.
I'd be happy with either tbh but i honestly think we'll be outbid for Hooper and unless SG has some firm plans in place i think we may miss out on Sharp aswell.
