'r lass' Focus must have left alright this morning, no crash marks anywhere. I'll have to review this car thing.

It may have ended up like that if I'd have taken it out!! I went out yesterday in it, slid around abit in it, I made it home alive without crashing, so its best left in the drive today.

My faith in human kindness has been restored.

My car is a bit sporty with nice fat tyres (not going to be crass and boast about what type) and I got myself stuck on a hill today. A young man whom I might've usually derided as a boy racer very kindly got out of his car, fetched some rock-salt and gave me a push to get me on my way.

The people of Batley are so much friendlier than the fekkwitt population of Leeds.

Yesterday On the aformentioned Scotchman Lane just where it levels out before going down again, a lady was outside her house shoveling rock salt from a wheel barrow and throwing it into the road.

I made a point of thanking her and was going to email look north about it but cant find a link.

It would have been much easier for her to sit indoors with her feet up watching TV but it made me think there are some decent folk left i nthis world.

I know. Having said that if I were her I'd have probably had the hose pipe out trying to make some black ice.

Then I'd have sat indoors with my feet up watching the resultant carnage.

The hose pipe would probably have helped.

Some friends at work pointed me in the right direction for that yesterday

I decided to drive to work today with the better weather forecast and it never ceases to amaze me that s are quite prepared to make a small hole on the snow on their windscreen and set off.

Such thick, selfish moronoic drivers deserve to die a slow lingering death when they wrap their car around a lamp-post.

there is lots of packed ice round the vicinity of the stadium a crowd in eccess of 12000 it could be a safety hazzard in todays standards .

With more snow forecast on Thursday/Friday the game must now be in doubt

Normally a good weather site...not looking good. As stated the pitch will probably be ok its health and safety for the supporters which could be the problem

According to Radio Leeds this morning (does anyone actually listen when there isn't any snow?), the snow will start around 9am tomorrow and continue until Friday lunchtime. It won't be constant, but 'on and off' (technical meteorological term that I suspect).
If anything, it may come earlier. Am I right in thinking that it isn't just the pitch we have to worry about, but access, carparks etc?

No prolonged heavy snow forcast now until Sunday. If they can get the Western Terrace sorted today and the pathways covered in grit they should be OK
