True !!! so you need to stay focused and calm. The trouble was the game had reached such a level of intensity particularly from Leeds that a couple of our players failed to control it and it cost us dearly..
Its a fine balance at times happens sometimes lets move on and learn form the mistakes.

| Quote ="silvertail-wolf"Being a Wire fan Sir Kev has a good record deserves a light punishment but I still think he will get a grade E offence , if you look at past punishments the minimum is 3 matches even with a good record so I'm afraid he will miss the semi but play in the final as I think Leeds will want wembley more than OT this year as Sir Kev hasn't had the opportunity as yet and I think this is his year ........feel better chaps?'"
Past punishments? Remind again how many games kris welham received for his headbutt on dorm?

Although it's not what caused the penalty, it's quite clear Dorn did lock Sinfields legs and for those saying it was an aggressive headbutt, it was more a case of him trying to square up with Dorn but Dorn didn't go in for it.'"
now back back 3 seconds before that and you will Sinfield on his feet pushing into Dorn trying to turn him to gain an extra second and that is what gave the penalty away.'"
Agreed it's not what caused the penalty, as I said in my reply but it definitely contributed to the response from Sinfield but even so I still don't think the issue is as bad as a lot of opposition fans are making out. 2 - 3 games, max 2 with EGP.

No he didn't.
If his leg is locked, how come Sinfield isn't appealing to the ref? Because he wasn't. If his leg is locked, how can he move from being straight ahead from the camera on the top of Dorn, to turning 90 degrees with his side facing the camera? Because neither of his legs were locked and he moved grappling with Dorn on the ground.
It's quite amusing you trying to find some mythical reason to justify Sinfield's actions but there isn't any!
Sinfield then gets off to walk off after pen is given and steps between Dorn's leg, which they then get tangled as they try to separate themselves but not "locked" - just a mere brush of legs.

| Jesus some people on here are totally inept, look the incident up on youtube and you'll see for a few seconds Dorn wraps his legs around Sinfields! Following that Sinfield gets up, words are exchange and then throws his head towards Dorn.
And as I have just said not ONCE but TWICE! It's not what caused the penalty, or the incident from Sinfield, that part was more a flash of rage - stupid rage, although it is still pathetic to claim it was an aggressive headbutt intent on causing injury - if you're intent on headbutting someone to cause injury, you don't push with your forehead you slam your forehead in to the nose and pull your head straight back. SInfield looks to be trying to square up to Dorn and failed.
And also, if I was trying to justify Sinfields actions I would have said he doesn't deserve a ban but no... I said he deserves a ban, at the max of 3, 2 with EGP.

As a side note I was also appalled to hear sections of the Leeds fans cheering and clapping as he walked off. What Sinny did was idiotic and also cost us the game. To cheer violence from a seemingly unprovoked headbutt shows a very low level.'"
I applauded Kev. I stood up. I wasn't applauding his actions. I was showing my support for the most successful captain and player in the club's history. I was showing my support for a player who has been a model professional for 14 years. I was showing my support for a player who has given me some of the best moments I've had watching Leeds rugby for 30+ years.
I felt like in what was probably one of Kev's lowest moments as a professional he might have needed that show of support from a fan base to whom he has given so much.
That as a member of said fan base you would rather the league make an example of him and choose to castigate him for "costing us a game" says a great, great deal about you.

you've answered your own post incorrectly here silvertail-wolf,
surely if sir kev was to receive a 3 game ban then his previous good record would surely grant him an egp and a 1 game reduction would it not?
and would thus make him free to play in the semi final
Quote ="christopher"Past punishments? Remind again how many games kris welham received for his headbutt on dorm?'"
a good point well made and if i recollect correctly this incident went without any such fuss or hysteria as shown on here,he also didn't receive a ban either
surely a sending off sufficient verdict should be deemed fair in comparison to this incident being a benchmark and the fact that welham wasn't even sent off

| Despite what's been said I'm afraid Sir Kev cost us the game, the reaction was so out of character given his 14 year career and the fact as our main go to player over that period he is subject to special attention from all opposition but during that period he's just got up and gone on with the game. The incident gave the impetus that Cas needed at that point in the game as I genuinely believe that we would hold them out and possibly score again had he remained on the pitch. All that said I have nothing but admiration for Kev and as someone has already commented he has given the Club and the fans extra really special moments than most clubs could only dream of, the guy is an absolute star and a RL legend a title not many players in the modern game can claim. My only hope is that the RL look favourably on his offence by taking into account his 14 year career and give him no more than a two game ban anything more than that would be hard on a truly great player who simply had a moment of madness which clearly he regrets.

He IS the best captain and leader of men I have ever seen in all my years of watching Leeds....and that includes my boyhood hero, David Ward (well actually, 'heroes'. I also revered John Holmes).
Whatever provoked that reaction after so many years of exemplary conduct is a mystery maybe only Kevin himself will know the answer to. Sometimes things in our personal life can result in actions in our job that are out of character. There can be no doubt Kevin has been punished enough in his actual early trek to the dressing room.....although of course I appreciate in the name of equal seen punishment for all he will miss a couple of matches. Just hope it's not 3

| Got a 2 match ban for EGB. its all over social media.
Thought the RFL didnt sit till tuesday, just shows what a joke they are.
He should of been banned for at least 4 games, if that was on the street he would of been charged with GBH. and a poss suspended prison sentence.. with a big fine and probation.

| Surely the RFL will give him the benefit of the doubt given his previous good record. They will have to be seen to be doing something so a two game ban would seem to satisfy all but the lunatic fringe.

| Merely speculating, but I wonder if Sinfield was so wound up because we'd totally cocked up the play before when rather than set up for the (potentially) game winning drop goal, DM had thrown yet another hospital line ball pass to Ablett that he knocked on & from which Dorn gained possesion leading to the Sinfield tackle & subsequent fracas?

| It was only out of character in that he took it a step further than usual. He's forever mouthing off, beyond the line of him being captain. It was shocking, but only because he always pulls himself together before it gets physical. He deserved sending off and deserves a couple matches ban. It was a one off and you'll never see him do that again.

Yes but you see when he got deliberately and cynically flattened in the 2012 grand final he was in no fit state at that moment to mouth off.Of course the perpetrator got away with it .Should have been sent off.It worked out well in the end the good clean team one the game

| Has anyone thought that instead of Sinny costing us a point in the league he saved us a point?
Dorn had broken the line and was well through when Kev tackled him, had he got up with a quick play the ball the Leeds defence were nowhere and there was more than a good chance that Cas may have scored.
Kev's actions and subsequent outburst prevented Cas using that momentum to go on and score.

| When you've had 17 years of being hit with cheap shots by every no-mark in the game, I reckon you're entitled to one loss of composure when some gobby little sod gets in your face.
If it ends up being any more than two games (the low end of the middle grading, less one for EGP), then the game has gone mad.

| You don't lose a game for an EGP - you get the lowest possible sanction.
So if it's 3-4 games ban, then he'll get 3 for EGP.
