To be fair they've rarely looked anything else since they joined SL. There's definitely some poor skills on show across the league but the biggest issue is how dumb players are with their decision making and discipline.

Agree with you all re. Catalan. The moment that summed it up was early on when bird threw himself to the floor trying to milk a penalty. Thaler penalised him, HKR kicked into the corner and scored. He was a great player but has done a JJB and gone on too long. I remember that semi in 2009, he nearly beat Leeds on his own, in fact if they had not subbed him for 10-15 mins I think he may well of. Now he looks shot add Edwards into the mix and it looks messy.
See if they react positively in next 2 weeks, it’s a weird League and week to week you have no idea what most teams will produce

I’m not sure. I think Agar is quite risk averse at this stage and may prefer a back room position still.

He will be involved but if the right candidate is out there we might bring them in.

I’m not saying another coach than Agar couldn’t have kept us up this year, but it wasn’t a shoe-in either. I am hugely appreciative of Agar’s work this year.

Sad thing is that we are not that far away from Wire, Hull FC etc.. and with Saints bottle jobbing i would even give this rabble an outside chance if they made it

We absolutely should be taking Saints as the benchmark to get past; playing squad and behind the scenes too.

On that basis we’re still a couple of seasons off, more than likely.

We just have to get our recruitment sorted once and for all.

Yes joking apart we are, or should be, miles behind top 5 with current playing squad but truth is we are only a good coach away from top 5. We need more quality to get to Saints level, they are miles ahead and if it wasn't for the comedy factor of watching them choke they would canter to the SL title and deserve to.

Thing is the quality of SL is pretty dire at the moment we aren’t really far off top 5

Sport and RL is unpredictable. Saints are the best side but they’re not forced to win every big game.

Even our Goldens only won the treble once (hell of an achievement). They lost some big games too.

You just put the best side together that you can, control what you can, and then leave the rest to Lady Luck.

I don’t think we are far off top 5 at all. People will have to be patient: the wheels have been coming off since 2015 or before. We are not going to fix this in one or probably two years now. What we can’t afford is to make even more obviously poor decisions around recruitment though. And we need to use this precious planning time, now we’re safe, to good effect and not fall in love with where we’re at.

I thought they were the worse Wigan side I’ve seen in a very long time when they played us at HQ a while back.

They have improved but i agree not the Wigan of the Wane era.

I see why people are making them favourites though. Still plenty of big game nous in the squad led by lockers. Feels a bit like us getting Cas in 2017.
