Anyway if im trying to pick any positives I though the following went ok

Both Briscoes
Parcell
Thompson

Just because he is quicker than a player than should have retired in 2015 isn't saying much. My idea of a loose forward - Sean O'Loughlin - who would leave Cuthbertson for dead in a sprint despite being older.


I thought Ward was pretty average, his injury can't have helped - Ton Briscoe was OK, Dwyer in the first spell, Parcell looks like Moon he is on the plane. The rest pretty dire.

Christopher surely you must be ignoring Luke Briscoe from a defensive point there? He was absolutely awful defensively, and with kicks. Same for Thompson defensively, he also looked very suspect.

Id usually watch it back to see whether my opinion from the live game matches my opinion after watching it on tv, but I don’t think ill bother watching it again.

The whole team was suspect in defence, im just trying to get some crumb of comfort from our attack which did look slightly better.

As I say I would usually give it a rewatch to watch closer but I’m not a sadist.

Watching Leeds at the moment is akin to sticking hot pokers in your eyes.

They will survive, either because they will make the top 3 or the ref will bizarrely have a shocker in the MPG.

Without Leeds most SL clubs are in deep poop

The mental fragility of this side in such a game might require more than the efforts of just one extra man.

This team keeps surprising me at how bad they actually are. I’m starting to think we don’t have the mental strength to win any game if it’s close. We’re weak, when the pressures on we fold.

Relegation isn’t as unlikely as I have been thinking. I also think we’d have been better off with McDermott finishing off the season, we’ve deteriorated even more since he left (should have gone last season).

The sacking of McDermott and replacing with lowes Sinfield has most definitely not worked.

Just how does Sutcliffe keep getting picked ? Does he have some incriminating photos of someone in the organisation ? Whilst it's fair to say others were equally pathetic today , this clown always plays at this level is he ever going to have an influential game ??

And don't get me started about Ward in the centres , I can only assume Jimmy is injured otherwise someone has lost the plot totally , pretty grim days indeed

Why do the commentators and others on here rave about Walker who i thought once again was at fault for a number of their trys, did little on attack and watched Vauvei put the ball over the line when he should have anticipated what could happen.
I could also list the majority of the team who were not up to SL standard.

Defence is all about attitude.

3 games, 22, 32 and 38 conceded. Says everything about this side at the moment.

A significant number of this squad need shipping out come October as their attitude stinks.

The kid is 18, he will make mistakes, he has bags of potential but he is playing one of the most difficult positions behind a team with no desire to do the hard work, Walker is the least of our problems.

Cuthbertson wouldn't look out of place playing in the womens' team, never mind coaching it.

When we played Hull away, when they scored a last minute drop goal to win. They started their set on the half way line, all we needed was an effort in defence, 2 tackles later, there 10m from our line, infront of the sticks, they slotted the drop goal over and won the game. I had thoughts then that the attitude and quality of the squad was done.

It was a disgusting effort. A big clear out is required but I’ve no faith whatsoever that quality replacements will be brought in.

Im not sure we need the massive personnel changes that some are saying to get us back on track - we need a decent coach for a start.

Did Saints have a massive clearout, or Warrington or Catalan?

I do think Sinfield is a good appointment but we need a proper head coach which i think will happen and we’ll see a big change in attitude next year - if we stay up that is.

Have to agree there, he hasn't hit the heights of 2015 that first year but even then he was only able to do that really because JP on his own was 3/4 of the front row and allowed him to be that extra off loading dimension without having other burdens. When asked to become a front row leader he hasn't been able to step up but isn't alone in that regard.

Too many players in their 30's getting extensions now when they are little more than SL plodders at best its depressing. JJB, Ablett, Delaney would all be patted on the back and thanked for their service but moved on after this year for me.

The coach is the big thing i agree, but a massive phasing out has to be done.in this day and age it can't be done in one off season but over the next 2/3 years massive changes have to happen, many of that squad are either not good enough and never will be, or past it now.

It should have already happened or at least be 2/3 starting players down the line.

Oh I agree we need a phasing out and some new players in but realistically that isn’t going to happen for next year i agree a 2/3 year timeline is about right but just signing players alone won’t get us back on track, the culture looks like it needs refocusing and I think Sinfield can do that with a bit of time.

I really was hoping to scrape into the top 8, I think it would have made the transition a bit easier with some pressure off.
