100% agree. It gets worse too and keeps getting worse until Brough stops twisting on the ground.

Unless you think a shoulder to the upper body can cause a knee injury more than a scissors tackle.
Take your Huddersfield, I ❤️ Danny blinkers off and actually look at the tackle. It's very easy to see how and why Hardaker sustained an injury.'"
Nothing foul about that tackle, only tackle not allowed with the legs is a trip. And the ref was only 3 metres away and he didn`t give a penalty for that.

| I said it at the time that it was a dangerous technique. Brough clamps Zaks legs and bends him the wrong way. I can't believe (actually I can) nobody at the RFL had a look at it.

That's simply wrong. Rules pretty clearly put the duty on the tackler to make sure its a safe technique...
Foul “throws” 1. (a) A tackler must not make use of any special “holds” or “throws” which are likely to cause injury or use his knees in the tackle. It is permissible for a tackler to bring a player in possession of the ball to the ground by pulling him over the outstretched leg provided he is holding the player with both arms before there is any contact with
the leg.

Yep. But don't tell that to those who worship at the feet of Brough.
Don't forget earlier in the game the ref had to have words with Brough & Hardaker to try and calm them both down. That isn't a regular tackle and it doesn't happen by accident. Brough meant to put his legs where he did. Whether he meant to injure only he will know, but it was, at least, reckless and should've been picked up by the disciplinary.
Of course, in a previous game this season Brough accused Hardaker of biting him, so there's a bit of ongoing problem between the 2.

What Omar said.
But anyone who knows anything about RL doesn't need the rule book to know that that isn't a legal tackle and it's dangerous. Just as dangerous as the sh|thouse tackle by Chase on Ferres.

| Probably already been said elsewhere but I thought Paul Anderson's conduct both during and after the game fell well below that expected by a Head Coach. Hopefully, when he reviewed the video of the game he realised that he got to caught up in the heat of the battle. I hope there's a fine on the way from the RFL and a strong warning about future conduct.

I posted the same immediately after his comments....Brough avoiding any disciplinary after that woeful 'tackle' is shocking (I perceived it to be bad at the time, but Him as highlighted just how bad !!) but it is equally shocking that Anderson has apparently been excused any consequences for his conduct.
AS for these 'tackles' (Sneyd on McGuire another) I guess it will take a severe injury for the RL to actually do anything about it.

Sadly it does appear that the RFL will only hand out a decent length ban if the player is seriously injured. The only one I can think of that got anything like they deserved was Chase on Ferres. But even then do we really think the RFL would've handed out the ban they did had Ferres not been so badly injured? Plus I think it should've been longer anyway.
I hate these type of tackles. I know things can happen in RL and that players can get injured and players can make mistakes when tackling so I'm prepared to give some benefit of the doubt to certain tackles like high tackles/sticking an arm out/even some spear tackles. But tackles like this, like Sneyd on McGuire, like Chase on Ferres have no place whatsoever in our game. You don't have to tackle like this. You can perform a perfectly good tackle without doing this. So these tackles should be eliminated from our sport.

| Brough went for Zak with his legs in the second minute. Zak collected in goal and was pretty certain to be trapped, but Brough lunged in feet first to block off an avenue, not a nice tactic and one again that went unpunished.
this is blurry but still doesn't look great

And what is your opinion on players charging in late with both their knee's after a player has scored a try, just like Peacock did against Castleford last week.

| Well, luckily it's the two most unprofessional coaches going head to head tonight. Hope they completely do each other. If we don't win tomorrow, I sincerely hope Saints win at OT.

It was certainly clear cut from were I was sat. Peacock had no chance of stopping the try but went charging in with his knee's, with the only outcome being a possible injury. He can't even use fatigue as a factor because it was in the first 10 minutes. My point is 'those in glass houses & all that........'

| I get it, I shouldn't comment on two very questionable incidents involving the same opposition player recklessly risking the safety of the same Rhinos player on a thread specificallyabout one of those incidents unless I first caveat it by covering each and every potentially comparable piece of foul play dished out by a Leeds player. That makes sense. We should do that on every thread, no talking about specific incidents until you've covered everything else that's ever happened.
Thanks for the heads up genius.

| Brough is very quick thinking - he has proved that time and time again. He proved that when he joined Jon Wells for the post match analysis when they beat Saints last month.
He knew exactly what he was doing when he went in for the 'scissor' tackle on Hardaker.
If he took the sh|thouse stuff out of his game and had an attitude adjustment he could have been one of the best players in SL. Unfortunately "once a sh|house always a sh|house".

| Bateman deserves all he gets.
Every tackle in the first 20 minutes he has his head in the opponents face.
He milks the tackle wrapping his leg round the opponents body trying to get a penalty.
Flippin good player but i wish someone would lamp him.

| I don't care if Zak doesn't play against Kiwis:
1) It gives him a full off season. This benefits us!
2) McNamara will play him out of position to accommodate little darling Sam anyway.
3) RL internationals are a load of guff anyway

Fully agree on 1 and 2. Although, in reality he has earned the 1 shirt and deserves to play there. Would spare McNamara a big decision though.

Agree with that. Unfortunately for both Brough & England/GB I don't think he's had very good coaches at the clubs he's been at. If he'd had a Tony Smith I think he'd have become a great player rather than a good one. Someone like Smith would massively improve his mentality like he did with Briers.

I do care if Hardaker doesn't play against the Kiwis but that doesn't mean we should take England into account when deciding if he plays in the semi and/or final.
If Hardaker's fit enough to play he should play. If he isn't then he shouldn't.
