Once again the Walker fan boys are out as he looks half decent against canon fodder, easy looking good against 12 man Leigh and perhaps the worse super league side since london broncos in 2014. Can't do it against any half decent side, all hype nothing more, be playing at fev or Bradford with lilley in 2 years time.

He's hit some inconsistency this year but no worse than the team nor Golding.

pretty much saw all his games last season and this, i hope you are right and i am right, that would be the best scenario, believe me i would not take pleasure in being a "told you so" much rather he did become a world beater, i just dont see it. But if i am right and he as been over hyped, the mob will soon turn on him. unfortunately people were saying the same things about Sutcliffe 3-4 years ago and others in the past.

Why does it have to be world beater or nothing? There isn't even people saying that, only you making that assumption. Why can't we just have a damn good player, who is the best at the club in his position, and as the potential to improve further? What is the issue with that?

not really, but i don't like how people attack him without justification, it seems some players cant do wrong and others cant do right, also concerned about some racial abuse that was heard at Cas against Golding and Walters. just because you like one player over another there is no need to attack the player you don't like all the time.

He's about as golden as we had when McGuire, Chev Walker, Watkins, came through the system. Like them, it is how he develops from here on in. The comments around those previous players were the same. Were you poo pooing everyone then for making positive comments on a young player?

All those 3 were streets ahead of Walker, sorry buts its true, chev Walker had already played for England at just 18. this is not about bagging walker and some people are trying to make out it is.

You are bagging him, and you do it simply because you don't like others hyping him. Whether you intend to do that or not, you do it.

They were not streets ahead of him at all in terms of quality to their peers, that is the issue. For his age and his role, Walker is up there in this country as one of the best, at this stage. Just like the three players I mentioned earlier were. The point which I think you might be alluding to his the quality in individual skill was better with those three. That might well be the case, but in terms of quality of the competition and how they rate to that, then Walker is at that sort of level.

Well just after disagree then won't we and time will tell.

The last decent full-back Leeds developed (Hardaker aside) was Richie Mathers. From what I've seen Walker is better than Mathers at the equivalent age; as good defensively while possessing a bit more pace and a more elusive running style.

We'll see how he develops - nothing is guaranteed (see Lee Smith!). But it's depressing that there are Leeds fans who are on the verge of willing him to fail to prove a point on an internet message board.

Makes me laugh the comments on Chev being way above Jack Walker at similar age as I used to drive Chev from training and I once had him literally in tears in my car due to abuse fans was giving him.

Will we see a return to the old days when Leeds let promising players leave who then teach them a lesson on the field, Lowes, Powell, Medley etc...

That'll depend on the quality of the ones that stay. At present, you'd have to say the prospects of any half decent player leaving for any of half a dozen clubs would improve. That said, the overall quality of the comp is low enough to suggest that it wouldn't take too many good signings - and a little bit of luck - for us to be right back at the top.
