I know its strictly speaking not Farsley, but has Thornhill Arms shut?

The Farsley side of Stanningley in general has taken a bit of a beating last year/2/3.

Thornill just gone, The Sun has shut at the bottom, there's several buildings boarded up, there's a strip club opening, and apparently a large Asian Supermarket opposite Abids.

Yeah it seems bad everytime I go near and around it (very rarely), im originally from Farsley and that seems to be getting worse

I'm Stanningley originally, can't believe how bad it's got in recent years. Farsley does seem to be going that same way but it's bound to really with them being so close. The strip club (when finished and fully illuminated) will be the nail in Stanningley's coffin IMO.

I can assure you all that Farsley is doing fine. We still have Bay Horse, Fleece, New Inn and Old Hall, A fully functioning working men’s club and a liberal club. Not to forget the cricket club near the cricket ground as well. Not to forget the new wine bar (replaced the old one) and that Old fold bar that’s come recently.

Have you been to Old Fold Grill Damo?? I was impressed with the food!! Very nice indeed!

Afraid not and someone else thought the food was terrible. But I’ll try it out myself sometime in this year. I also want to try that curry place opposite the Post Office

I've had several people say the food was awful in Old Fold. I went pretty early on so perhaps they've got sloppy. It was certainly nice enough when I went.

I wasn't impressed with Deeva (opposite the PO), but I suppose we're spoilt for choice with decent Curries around here. They also tried to pull a fast one on me at the bar by just not giving me any change at all and serving the next person and when I've told the story to friends etc. 3 or 4 different people said they did the same to them. Which has put me right off going again. Especially as it wasn't over impressive and there's loads of others to choose from.

Old Fold has certainly been empty every time I’ve been passed it recently.

Sounds like a right mean spirited service you get at Deeva. In hindsight, I haven’t had a good curry from a restaurant in ages. Prefer takeaways me.

Indeed. The missus is going home to Wales tomorrow night too so I was looking forward to a big one in Leeds. Probably won't happen now.

I don't thnk the ansley was about for me, I think it was thurstons rather gregss as well. Not been out in farsley for years but we used to go to new inn if it's still about

I went to the woolpack in yeadon today ( sadly while at work) seemed like a good boozer food smelt good and nice choice of beers and largers

The fish and chip shop near me must be the only one that can manage to burn chips and yet keep them soggy at the same time

Where is that then fish and chips, I love my fish and chips and have them as much as possible from different place

No idea what its called but its in Swarcliffe and its feckin horrible, the fish was ok but the chips were the worst I have ever had
