Slightly off topic, but cafe rain in pudsey do good cake, one of the nicer Victoria sandwich cake I have had.

And also had cake from a cafe in adel today. Popped into adel buchers for my lovely warm sandwich and found a good cake shop next door. Millionaire slice. Was very nice

Cafe Rain is just around the corner from where I work, still never been in. Will have to try it.

The coffee was nice as was the cake and the menu looked nice as well. I only went in last Sunday as nowhere else was open while pushing the kids around trying to get them to sleep!

That's the one and easily accessible for prams too as two mums were eating in there today. I got a take out though and had green tea on the house whilst waiting

Might not fit the double pram in. You would be supprised how many places I cannot actually get into nowadays. I was thinking of going and getting takeaway while at work by myself anyway!

I'd have placed Loch Fyne way above Livebait.
I fell out with Livebait years ago (in Manchester I think) over what should have been a trivial issue, when I asked what they had put on the chips and they argued back and tried to say they hadn't put anything on them ... they were dusted with some sort of dry spicy powder, maybe paprika-based, feckin' awful on chips and not what you want with a delicate white fish.
If they'd been a bit more customer-aware, I might have gone again but as there are plenty of other places around I didn't bother.

Away from restaurants, i advise trying Tasty! sandwiches in Headingley. Top sarnies, chips and they do chocolate brownies that are brilliant.

I've found some great Indian restaurants around here.

I highly recommend the Everyman Cinemas in Leeds for food because I had a lovely ham and pineapple pizza in there last night. You can either eat it in the Restaurant or take it into the cinema itself. You get sofas instead of chairs to watch films plus you get pillows too

If I am in a cinema watching a film , I don't want anybody at the side of me munching a pizza.

So you're paying a premium to watch films in an environment that is trying to replicate the home environment, settees, pizzas etc.

A fool and his money etc.

Never mind that. Paying money to get a pizza with tropical fruit on it should be number one in any checklist that decides whether benefits should be withdrawn.

I prefer been sat at a table when eating so I had my pizza sat down at a table on a balcony overlooking the Leeds skyline.


I'm more than happy to spend money in a place that employs people to work in an enjoyable environment!
