Any ideas of other signings and when there's going to be any announcements? If Buderus goes we need a hooker and a good second row forward to eplace Ali?

I can't see how there's a shortage of money. So far only Moore has been signed on supposedly small contract. Is the Griffin deal still on? If Buderus goes, who replaces him, McShane and Hood or a signing and if so who? I think we still need some cover at half-back and that's why Hanbury would have been good. I'm sure GH knows what he's doing, I just wish he would let us know!

We have enough of them, but do we have one of class quality?
That said, that position is also where we have an abundance of talent coming through the ranks. Jack Carvill for me should have had a go there already, and I have been advised by a very prominent scout to watch out for Ben Finder.
My own view on top of that, is the first team coaching can not much longer continue to ignore the claims of Daniel Smith, who looks miles ahead of the academy competition. This lad really looks the real deal. Always thought he was a prop, but seems to have been playing 13 for Leeds, so don't know where his future lies, but he is some talent.

| Agree Gotcha re-D.Smith he looks far too good at Acadamy level and must be ready for a dig at either 1st team with us or at least a loan deal elsewhere.
He does look like a prop but he's very mobile and has very good endurance and hands at 13 so he could turn out to be a pack utility well worthy of a potential bench spot to cover Prop or any of the BR.

Was about to post the exact same thing myself when reading down.
Any signing should be a) better than you currently have, or b) viewed to have the potential to be better than you already have.
Greg Bird quite clearly falls into the a) category.

I agree, Greg Bird clearly stands out on the list. Lots of suppporters have said we need a new half-back (whether GH agrees is another thing!) with Rob Burrow going to hooker. However does he still have visa problems?

Not a chance in hell I'd say - didn't GH come out in the press and slam Bradford signing him due to his court case?

Ah...but he was cleared of all charges...
However there isn't a club in the NRL who wouldn't be improved by having Bird. He's current SOO and International, so why would he be coming to SL? The only top, top class under-30 NRL players who come are those who've run into some sort of trouble or run out of other options (Bird when he went to Catalans, Lyon, Lauititi. And, available now, Todd Carney).

It was actually Kevin Walters he made look good, although if Walters hadn't substituted him while he was singlehandedly destroying Leeds in the 2009 GF eliminator, Bird could have made Walters look even better by getting him to Old Trafford.

Aim for the NZ boys. They still get to represent whilst playing over here so are much more likely to come.
Webb? Leuluai? Eastwood? Hohaia?
They all signed for SL clubs whilst at or near the top of their game and serving their country. I think Hohaia has recently retired from NZ team perhaps? But still. Point stands.
I would love to take Fien or Luke.
