Lyon only really gets in there because of the lack of any better options, especially if it's a right centre specifically.

Other notable centres I guess are Hape, Gidley and Watkins. Not many after that though

Yeah good shout, I suppose if being honest Ellis was much better in the NRL than he was in SL. Could say the same about Morley as well.

Probably not but that just about sums up his ability , he should never be mentioned in the same breath as most selected on here .

Odd opinion, given he's been one of the most durable and feared players in the league.......

All decent players, but none were at the top in super League long enough to be a shoe in ahead of Watkins, maybe with the exception of newlove.

No one said there was criteria, but I don't think someone who played 5 games should be in a SL select team.

Im amazed nobody has mentioned Radlinski for full back to be honest.

Ive no issue with the full backs mentioned Iestyn, Webb and Wellens all tremendous but i think Radlinski deserved a mention.

He deserves a mention he was excellent in that Wigan side.

He was the biggest failure at test level I've seen in my time, he was terrible.

full back is a tough one. not a great deal between Radlinski, Tomkins, Webb, Hodgson but i picked Wellens for longevity and pure consistency over 2 decades. the bloke never really caught the eye like a say a Ben Barba tearing through a team from 80 yards but was a solid 8/10 in every department pretty much every week.

Senior over Newlove for me. Newlove didn't play enough in SL, and he did less for GB/England than Senior (Aussie gossip antics aside!).

McGuire was probably more entertaining to watch, but I'd have Sinfield in at 6 instead (you'd need a calmer head alongside Long). Might have been tempted by H. Paul, who was unplayable at times.

Fielden's rather sudden demise after he left Bradford leaves a question mark over his inclusion IMO. I'd swap Peacock in at prop, and then bring in another second-row. Probably Morley, maybe Ellis - both having some success in the NRL too.

I considered Senior but I thought Newlove was just capable of doing that bit more. He was capable of breaking the line and scoring from 50m out which was something very few centres were capable off. Although he only played a small number for SL seasons so did Lyon.



I also considered Sinfield but thought there were enough leaders in that side already and McGuire's support play adds another dimension, not to mention his playmaking ability that he developed as he progressed. Henry Paul is a decent shout too.



To be fair to Fielden I think it's unfortunate and unfair that his demise almost overshadows his achievements. If anything it highlights the inherent negativity of the RL fan. He was the best prop in SL for 5 or 6 years. If you move Peacock up to prop then maybe Ellis or Lauitiiti should come in. Morley's best years were in the NRL IMO.
