IMO when push comes to shove they will lose 2 playoff games in a row. I have never been as confident at winning the title as I am after tonights game. I know we lost and Wigan played well but TBF they were nothing near a championship winning team tonight to say they were "up" for this game. In the 1st match of the play offs at the DW I can see us winning quite convincingly.

To me Leeds are doing exactly what they did at the beginning of the season, thats is putting their eggs in one basket and going all out for one thing, only this time its the challenge cup and not the WCC. Me feels there will be alot of egg needed wiping off faces around headingley after the semi next week. Just my opinion but we'll see

Wigan were the best side last night. They look a very well coached side who are all committed to the game plan. Their defence is excellent, they make few errors and they have the pace and individual skills to take their opportunities. They must be favourites to become the new champions.

However Leeds were not at their best last night and gave Wigan easy posession and a couple of soft tries.

The players will have to cut out the bad discipline and the backs will have to improve their form all round while the coaches have to sort out our leaky defence particularly out wide before we play the Saints.

Leeds are at their most dangerous when they offload and move the ball to find the spaces. You can only do this if the forwards put us on the front foot, so fill the pack with the best go forward players. However I believe we overdo the up the middle bashes. We often take the ball into contact when a pass to another player in space would gain more ground and create an overlap. I would like Leeds to attack with a deeper line to overcome the constant offside that many referees allow and we should stop the coaches policy of a flat pass to a stationary forward rather than the pass behind him to the man on the move in space.

Seems a lot to ask for but it is how these same players used to play not so long ago - So don't write off Leeds just yet

I think you're kidding yourself I'm afraid. We weren't bad by any means, but we threw everything at them and they wouldn't crack, then they were clinical in attack. They are well capable of winning the GF.

That's not to say I don't think we can win it too though.

Ask your Wigan players if last night we were saving ourselves for next weeks Semi Final v Saints do you think they would agree with you? Sure Wigan deserved their win last but we didn't rest anyone and had a good go at you with no lack of effort. A combination of mistakes and giving some easy possesion cost Leeds the game but don't say it was easy for you.

If we make the same errors next week we will lose that one too, but given our appalling injuries this season and never a settled side we have done well to climb to 4th position and still be in the Cup Semi.

Juan, Whilst I would also like to see a deeper attacking line, the most effective way to keep defenders honest in terms of the 10M is the chip over. I would deliberately try it early in the game so they knew it was in our armoury. The defensive counter is to play the sweeper, which naturally leaves space elsewhere.

One aspect of our (GB also not just Leeds) play that frustrates me is the lack of flexibility in the attacking game plan. Have we, as a game, created a generation of halfbacks who can only do what the coach tells them, rather than identify the right play given what they see in front of them?

Biff and barge only works if you are bigger and stronger than the opposition, whereas skill will work against anyone.

Wigan are a well-coached side. They have a few good-not-great imports (Richards, Leuleui, Riddell), an excellent prospect (Sam Tompkins), and a couple of decent back-rowers (Joel Tompkins, O'Loughlin).

On the whole, they aren't anything special.

That they're top of the pile at the moment says more about the form of Leeds and Saints than the quality of Wigan.

Wigan really know how to work the tackle area and the referee, it was evident against Hull and again last night. They use the anklebreaking technique of two holding up and a third going in on the legs, regularly have a hand on the ball and in posession hold down the tackler to gain a penalty, hope these tactics don't lead to success as it will lead to more of it.
