by 2 or 3 more competitive teams you are probably right. However, the RU world cup is more hype than anything else, with the actual number of teams capable of winning it, not much diffferent to the League world cup

What the media present as a big deal isn't always necessarily the case either.

The RU World cup means less to me than Michael Jackson's death or Kerry Catona's marital issues but they also receive a dis-proportionate amount of media coverage and niether of those are really a big deal.

No, but then I never said it was a "big deal". The RU World Cup will attract far, far larger audiences, both live and televised. As such it will also attract more sponsorship and more money.

Whether it's a bigger deal to you or me is irrelevant as long as we remain a minority audience.

It has nothing to do with the quality of the competition, it has to do with the level of interest it generates. Lets face it, there were several teams in the last RL World Cup who created no interest at all in their home country, let alone in Australia. How many people in Scotland and Ireland do you suppose even knew the RL World Cup was happening?

Do you have any UK Television audiences for the last RU and RL world cup for comparison because I am skeptical that the difference will be that big if one exists at all.

Lets hope we get a game or two at HQ...
Time to boost investment into our ground again!

Hopefully some games played more than 20 miles from the M62 will help spread the game. Those would be much more beneficial now that we have a widespread amateur game.

Maybe some of the "emerging nations" but your GB, NZ and Aussie games will be at your usual venues, the DW stadium, The Stoop, and The KC as per usual.

Thbest we can hope for is for France to play at home as well as Wales and Scotland with maybe an England group game in London

Cheep Tickets otherwise... Fill it out... make Profit from the commercial aspect not the ticket sales (Like AUS08 did)... Would look fantastic...

Same for both of the Semi's (poss Cardiff and OT)...

Sounds OTT but Cheep tickets would mean more sell outs meaning more major sponsors willing to pay big money!

Something I would hope the amateur clubs in those areas would push themselves, whether or not the RFL did.

They should also have Open Days at stadia to allow fans to tour different heartland grounds...

Unfortunately they could throw the doors wide open and not charge anything and still struggle to half fill those non heartland venues.

Did they travel to the Millenium or Murrayfield Magic weekends?

Have they traveled to previous World Cup matches held outside the heartlands?

Did the RFL promote these properly, NO! A Booklet and a website, Hardly reaching out for new fans...
The fact that we are England now will mean that non-RL supporters will turn up (IF IT IS PROMOTED PROPERLY)...
I suggest that the RFL pay a company to run the RLWC as an event... That's what AUS08 did!
