Enjoyed the awesome atmosphere at Headingley again last night - but not the result!



As an 'old' stadium, it has always been a pleasure to visit. I sat in the North Stand last night, having booked my tickets through the Rhinos, so was completely dry. However, do you guys not see a problem for visiting fans, stuck out on the West terrace, with no cover whatsoever? There were some pretty soaked Leythers by the end of 80 minutes last night! I realise that our old Hilton Park stadium was a hundred times worse for getting wet (especially in the roofless toilets!

) I believe there are plans to re-develop the South Stand (I hope it doesn't lose it's incredible atmosphere as a result) but surely, in 2017, visiting fans should be entitled to have a roof over their heads?

Not ever happen Alan , planning issues with the ' right of way ' and the houses behind the terrace , plus of course it involves spending cash , and it's in Yorkshire



I'd just be happy not having to undertake the trek up through the passageway and then all the way back down again , just a couple of turnstyles in the bottom corner near the car park would suffice

All of course ' if ' we find ourselves visiting on a regular basis

I think it might be on the longterm agenda ,but the development that is about to take place has taken many years to get off the ground ,so don't hold your breath. By the way has anyone noticed those 'state of the art' NFL open stadiums? when I ride past The Lincoln Field Philadelphia Eagles stadium I think to myself how can anyone sit in this place in the middle of winter for over 3 hours ? it has some covered areas ,but they would not stop you getting wet

The worst I encountered was in a CC QF game a few years ago. 80 minutes of hailstones bashing off our heads and then that barsteward Lee Smith scores the winner with a few minutes left

still the best ground in SL though.

A lot of fans in the Carnage Terrace also get wet when it rains, can't be helped really. As you say away fans can opt to go in the covered north stand.

Should have brought a gazebo,was plenty of room to put one up last night.lol.......sorry only joking,try bringing a plastic mac .

Not just away fans. There's plenty of home fans on the WT too. I don't mind a bit of rain though!

you need to get out more,its a dump,the seats in the north stand are as old as conker trees,the view is awful.but its better than wheldon road,& belle vue i suppose.whatever happened to minimum standards.

Even if we accept you assertion that HQ is a bit of a dump, which I don't. Is it better to own a dump or rent a pre-fab?

to rent or to buy,thats an opinion.its past its sell by date and needs sorting that is a fact.minimum standards are back on the menu,will it apply to all clubs or just some as happened the last time the powers that be sat in judgement,saying you cant join to anyone they did not want in their monopoly.super league started under the guise of improving standards across the board,from the dishwater coffee served up,to stadia,playing standards,catching up with the aussies.20 years on,and very little has changed,except a lot of sky money sitting in antipodean bank accounts.

It's getting rebuilt in a few months anyway

Dont really get the big deal, plenty of open roofed stadiums all over the world, including places in America where it gets a lot colder than Northern England.

I get that the west stand looks a bit rubbish but not much they can do without major backing from LCC, also I wouldnt want the Rhinos to force some people out of their homes as Liverpool FC did with the Anfield expansion

well i can tell you,that being charged the same amount of money,to be hearded onto an open terrace in the rain,like something out of schindlers list is not a pleasant experience,so you pay the extra to sit in a covered stand,where you get a dirty old wooden seat that fell off the arc,with restricted view.take a look at teams in the championship,they offer far better facilities to away fans.wake up leeds its 2017.

Could we erect like a giant gazebo over that stand?

The wooden seats in the North stand are way more comfortable than the modern plastic ones.

i was referring to being hearded onto that terrace,was akin to the scenes in said movie,where they forced them into cattle trucks.you can resort to insults if you like,but i have not said anything that is not factual.if you go to away games, do you has a leeds fan get treated worse than the home fans.that is my point.if you dont like what i have said ok i can live with that.enjoy the rest of the season.

Quite plainly you have. Standing in a bit of rain or sitting on a wooden seat for 80 mins is somewhere at the lower end of human suffering; being a victim of genocide is perhaps a notch or two higher, don't you think?

you're not herded anywhere. you can sit/stand where you like.

I'd back my plastic seat in the Carnegie Stand against any wooden seat in the North Stand. I can't wait for the demolition & rebuild to start.

I think that once the redevelopment work is completed that our stadium will be one to be proud of
