| That's dirty?
You get opposition fans frothing at the mouth at what a loathsome evil, dirty thug he is. Since the other bailey thread I've been trying to pay more attention to him during games, to try and spot all these heinous acts he commits, but I really don't see much of anything.
It's not like he's running round clotheslining players or elbowing them in the face, or chinning them for no reason and barging them over off the ball.
I'll watch a game where bailey will do nothing bad of note, and then on here people will be going spare about bailey!
What's the deal?
His disciplinary record and penalty stats back up the fact he doesn't really do much dirty play.

| He is a dirty cheap shot merchant who will get away with it because he plays for Leeds. He does it all the time. You may not see it, nobody may not see it, but he does it all the time. You do not need facts, video evidence, lie detectors, psychics or be clairvoyants, the fact he is there means he is doing it. Sorry got to add FACT.
Phew, don't know where that came from.

| What happened with Bailey and Walker in 2003 is what swayed everyone's opinion of him. And I won't say any more on that subject.
EVERY single Pro (and amateur for that matter) RL player is brave. I couldn't go out and do what they do. Its a brutal sport at times. As much as I might dislike him, how brave is someone like Sean Long? You get beat up every week by 16stone blokes - its a really tough sport that we love. But they do genuinely put their bodies on the line week after week. Some of them for free. So we know that people who know what they are talking about don't mean it when they say Bailey is a coward. He is clearly hard as f*cking nails.
What I love about Bailey, and what every Leeds hater HATES about Bailey, is the fact that he draws so many penalties from other teams. Bailey aint a coward. Ryan Bailey is one of the most astute forwards knocking about in Superleague. Ryan Bailey could use all his energy to power through 4 tacklers and gain 8 yards. Or he could manipulate his opponent and pull a penalty. Kevin Sinfield would then stick a ball 40 yards in to touch. You then have a raging opponent, and a fresh Bailey. And an attacking position from 15 yards out.
Isn't that a great Rugby League brain? The guy knows how to play the game FFS! And your "rock hard opponents who would have knocked him into next week" clearly know it as well, otherwise they would have done so!
What I love about opposition fans' views is when they compare him to Ricky Bibey
They are obviously very thick and have an agenda towards Bailey, and use the old argument of "well Bibey won stuff too but look at how bad he was"
However - Bailey has now been a regular fixture in the Leeds first team for 8(?) years, played his part in winning FOUR Grand Finals, and has been picked by 3 seperate coaches on the trot.
Really comparable to Bibey!!

Pretty well summed up mate.
Just to add i notice alot of other fans make the mistake when slating him of comparing him to the likes of Morely,Peacock and Graham etc without actually realising he isn't no1 prop in our team although he's proved when the likes of JP are missing he can raise his game and cover the work-rate of that loss.
Again just like you and many others the more others "HATE" him the more i love him and long may this continue.

Nailed it there
The ones who bleat about Bailey are the very same ones who would be celebrating if he ever signed for their team, its jealousy and simple blind idiocy.

I would create an account and ask them where Bailey was hiding when he put that big hit on Mary last year and sent him off to the dressing rooms with a boo-boo on his nose but I can't be bothered.

Apparently this is why Bailey is a perfect metaphor for the Leeds club in general. How can you be over-rated after sending the opposition home with their tails between their legs from Old Trafford for the past three seasons. Deary me, will the Giro scrounging idiots (no not you Damo ) never see sense?

| Did you see the one about Lee Smith, average player who got lucky with a punt that turned into a 40-20 in a grand final once.

I'll help you out - he was running cross field getting mullered, then hiding in the centres whilst James Graham was busy winning the game.

| what bailey actually does is his role in a 17 man sport very well that is why leeds have been the force for the last few years and other clubs and fans need to look at leeds and understand to win the bigger things in life you need 17 players doing there job well and not just a few..
yes people argue bailey is not a power forward but that is not his game that is down to peacock and kylie whos game it is,baileys is more defensive and most of the time leads the forwards in tackles..
bailey is also a wind up player he is a sort of player who does niggle and says things and makes you snap and he just looks at you and smiles

And what did it have to do with Graham? He was frothing at the mouth.
I remember Graham's input.
Third man in wasn't he?
OOOoooooh brave.
For further reading of Ryan Bailey please see last years GF performance. Classic stuff.
Yet again what was Mr Graham's input?
An attempted cheap shot on the last play from the penalty tap. He stood 5m offisde and went looking for TMFMISL. No problem for him, he bounced him off and as usual wore a huge grin and smile.
Sucked in yet again.

There you go, another example of Baileys genius, he got you all rattled again. Mary ran it in towards Bailey and Bails had him nicely lined up. Mary got sat on his backside and walked off with a runny nose
There after FGB wasted so much energy trying to emulate Baileys shot and quite frankly failed terribly and made a right fooking fool of himself.

| People do go on saying that Bailey is a chicken and that he will pick a fight then back down. People actually use this against him but surely you could say he is a better professional as he resists the need to get into a scrap. As someone stated he is used to wind the opposition up and then doesn't retaliate thus can get the opposition to concede penalties. Suits me although I do wish he would run straight at the line without his little stop start motion

In his early Leeds career I remember him been a real hot head, fighting all the time and had bad discipline. But after his little incident with Walker he came back a much calmer player with much better discipline.
Look who Bailey has got on his cv : Morley, Marysatontheloo and Crabtree. 3 tough props that Bailey has owned.

Tony P is going to set fire to Ryan Bailey is what I get from that picture. Would be controversial but no doubt make for good TV and an increased Sky deal through the publicity the burning would create.

| saturdays part in the burrow/luaki mismatch sort of summed up baileys wind up capabilities
he committed the foul which drew the slap from luaki but if burrow hadnt reacted then leeds would have got the penalty
because of the spat luaki was targeted in every tackle and by a hostile leeds end and was playing as a winger when hall ran past him for his fourth try
as in boxing losing your head can be very costly and bailey is perfect at goading other players so they make mistakes, if on friday someone else decides to get involved like graham was then he will have done his job
while he's attracting 4-5 players to the tackle leeds have the know how and speed to exploit the gaps left
