Im coming down from the North East with a mate for the Four Nations Final on Saturday. We are wanting to find a pub which will be showing the Man City v Newcastle footy match live on TV. We are getting the train down to Leeds so anywhere in the vicinity of the Station will do.

Im also wanting some advice on the best way getting from and to Elland Road from the City Centre eg. how much in a taxi??

Any advice will be much appreciated.

Spencer's is near the station and popular with football fans,no seriously Spncers is a pub frequented by leeds united fans,but they are away that day,there are shuttle buses to and from the ground right at the side of the station

Is that still correct about the bus?
I only go to Elland Rd. for RL so am not a regular on that bus and may need to be corrected ... but, last time, the bus went from (just in) Sovereign St. near the Hilton hotel.

It is official shuttle buses leaving Sovereign street starting at 3.30pm last bus returning to city centre is at 10.30 pm

Any pub in Leeds with sky will have that game on.

Its not on Sky though, so need some pub with foreign sat.

I think you'll be hard pushed to find any pubs in Leeds not showing the Leeds match on Saturday. If it had been on Sky you might have had a chance in Bondi as they usually showa few different matches on a the TVs

Players bar in town will be showing it according to their Facebook page.

If you look for the light, then walk past Tiger Tiger, it's right there.

Leeds match kicks off at 12.45pm so will be finished by the time Man City v Newcastle kicks off

The Player's bar!Is that the old sports bar on the Headrow opposite the Art gallery?it was large with lots of TV screens all over showing different sports events.if it is,not too keen on the prices and not a real ale pub.If any one goes in there and wants a decent pint and see sport just walk on about 30 yeards to Dr Okells ,if that is still the name,they keep changing it

You know, with the exception of The Scarborough Taps I don't know where any of these "bars" are - and whats with calling them "bars" now, they should be "pubs"

player's bar?I was in leeds in september I past tiger tiger bar risa ,if i had seen players bar I would have looked in,but if it looked like a tiger tiger or a bar risa i wouldnt have gone in.

The sports bar facing the gallery has real ale on downstairs, and you can wander upstairs with your pint of decent beer to watch the sport.

There's also the bier keller thing on in the cellar if that floats your boat.

Good to know not been in for a long time, might pop in there. Went to the Christmas Market the other day and I wouldn't recommend it before the game. Beer was very good, but the 4 liters of ale left me feeling rough, wouldn't want to go to a game after that lot!!

If its a bit chilly a glass of that mulled wine goes down a treat

It does but the beer goes down quite quickly and you don't really notice how much you have actually had!!
