Can anyone confirm if we have been allowed to take beer to our seat in recent GF?

I honestly can't remember, but I'm sure we was allowed. Just been reading the official site and it states that no beer is allowed in sight of the pitch?

To be fair, I'm not that bothered about drinking during the game, I think most people would of had enough during the day

I think the first couple of times it was not allowed as now, then they relaxed it.

There is absolutely no need for people needing beers whilst the match is on. You want one, then Old Trafford has the right attitude, stay in the concourse area.

I fully agree, I'll be having a fair few during the day so there's no need for another couple when the game is on IMO.

Why would anyone be more interested in getting canned up rather than watch the game? Crazy in my opinion

I'm not interested in getting "canned" up I was asking a question as to weather or not we could take Beer to our seats during previous grand finals mate.

I quite like to have a beer while watching the game, but if the consequence of allowing me to do that is that you have aled up tools staggering backwards and forwards to the bar every 4 seconds and slopping their pints all over everyone else, I'm happy to give it a miss.

I was driving in 09 so I don't know whether I would have been allowed or not. I do know I wasn't allowed the lid for the bottle of pop I bought, which was a pain in the backside.

There's a message on the Rhinos website from GMP reminding fans that there is no on-street drinking in Trafford and that beer cannot be taken to your seat once in the ground.

As far as I am aware, the drinking rule is for FA matches, as it comes under the Football Offences Act. Grand Finals don't apply, so you should be able to drink pitchside.

One thing you need to be aware of is Trafford Borough Council's prohibition of on-street drinking.

You are not allowed to have open cans/bottles anywhere in the borough. This means that if you buy cans from the off licences outside the ground, you will not be able to drink them. If you open them, the police can and will take them from you.

If you want to drink cans prior to the match, avoid the area around Sir Matt Busby Way. This area is heavily policed, and you are more likely to be disappointed when you lose four cans of stella that you paid £3 each for!

I know as you walk to OT they have bins lined all along the middle of the road and the police are there making sure you put your alcohol in to them?!

Drinking in the bowl, in view of the game will not be permitted. Clear signage and stewarding will be used to reinforce this regulation.

100% correct. They enforce it very strictly too. The stewards watch almost everyone go back to their seat during the game to see if they've done a sneaky in the pocket/up the sleeve maneuver

I bet if you did an Eric Morecambe and hid it behind your arm when you took a swig you'd get away with it.

Not allowed to take them to your seat but we didn't have too much of a problem last year as they sell bottles which can easily be hidden under a jacket/ up a sleeve.
