| Leeds did ok tonight, the aussies were up for it, and all the trollers who would have loved to have seen their club there take the pi55, donald would have scored at least one, but the most dissapointing thing for me was the leeds scrum half only passed the ball once, lets face it burrow is a one trick pony who's time has come. A SCRUM HALF WHO CAN'T PASS????

| Yes his time has come he should never play for Leeds again.
He cannot pass,tackle or run.
Reason we lost game tonight was little Rob.

| But what did Billy Slater do most of the evening ?
Everytime the ball was kicked to him , he attempted to offload it to his winger ....

| i'm not talking billy slater, come on, i've rated burrows highly in the past, but the time has come, its mcguire or burrow, he was out played by a hooker tonight, Leeds need a playmaker, burrow passed the ball once tonight. i'm talking from a rugby point of view not the leeds rhino's product.

Apart from the two breaks he made in the second half, of course.

No, i watch RL in general, Slater was at half pelt tonight as was inglis, i was was hoping for a leeds win & i've supported them them since the 70's. this thread is about burrows lack of productivity which was clearly lacking tonight.

| He seems very short on confidence at the moment, as do all the Leeds players in attack. We seem to be holding on to the ball a fraction too long at times and its really slowing down our attack. But for me the biggest problem (not just in this game) is the fact we're not playing the ball anywhere near quick enough ATM.

| Very good point.
For me Burrows as done very little for 2 years. He used to be a player i used to dread getting the ball because he was hard to grab. Not anymore imo. His never been creative but now his running game is going downhill too.

I think you are trolling, but hell I will bite.
Unfortunately, I think you are right. 5 games on the trot he has been the worst player in the team, and really does look little boy lost.

| Do you think because Sinfield takes so much responsibility controlling the game for you it's stopped Burrow developing that part of his game?

Not at all. There is a reason he was never given control before. Because he does not have the ability to organize. He has other qualities to his game that far exceeded others, but unfortunatley they seem to have been lost somewhere along the way.

A very good observation.
For all his quality Peacock must have the slowest play the ball in the entire league.
Burrow remains one of the best scrum halves in the league.
Unlike other knee jerking fekkwitts my opinion will remain so despite a run of poor form in three or four games. Like just about every season on here in living memory there will be many with egg on their faces very soon, just as they do every year but they're too dense to learn their lesson.

So with Danny Mcguire being more a support player as well does that leave you missing a game controlling player if Sinfield is out? I mention this because someone recently posted a thought that if you shut down Orford we don't have another sufficiently creative player to make the chances and are Leeds suffering from Sinfield being so controlling?

I'll take that as a dig at me. Won't take offence at it, as probably deserve it.
However, I think you are wrong on Burrow. There is no doubt in my mind that we will still get the odd great game out of Burrow, and if that only happens at cup finals, then great. But unfortunately he is far far from the best scrum half in this league anymore and I really can not see him been the same player he was a couple of years back and prior.
You want to interpret that as knee jerking, then that's your choice, I am not going to argue on it. And had it still been early 2009 you would have been right, but we are now 2010, and it is not too early to comment on a players demise.
Just for the record Great players can go downhill early. Fielden been the most perfect example of that, and he is not alone. GF rings should never be the only selection criteria for a players shirt.

| Gotcha, not really a dig at you. You were not alone in your assessment of Donald.
I don't want a petty argument or to score points on you today (well, maybe later) but i do think people are being far too quick to write off Rob and the Donald example is a good demonstration of the folly of such thinking.

Fully agree. We seem to be technically weak at the PTB. We are allowing other teams to turn us on our backs almost every time which makes for a slow PTB as we take for ever to get up. Wigan are setting an example of how to be tackled and get up quickly and it the major reason for their successful go forward this year. We are also weak on attack with no planned moves with little or no idea of good lines for a dummy runner (if there is one). Plan A is to go one up down the middle for 4 tackles and Plan B is then to ship the ball laterally with no attempt at creating space or an overlap with for example a simple run around. This lack of strategy is really a coaching problem. We also don't look to fast this year but rthat maybe the heavy pitches.

| Burrow hasn't been great but you've only played four league games and a wcc. I'm sure he'll come good, anyone know the extent of Sinfields injury? He is the key to your success, some opposition fans don't rate him but it showed last night how much you missed him.
