| I've just read some posts on a Knights forum and they seem peeved that's he's leaving them. In a struggling team it sounds like he's been a standout player. Happy days!!!

| He has always had outstanding stats, but for some reason he has always been in and out of firstgrade.
The guy nearly always runs more than 100 metres and nearly always makes 20+ tackles - usually off the bench.
I think the problem Wayne Bennett has with him is that Wayne hates offloads, and Cuthbo is a compulsive offloader. He is actually a very good offloader, but Wayne would prefer he stop doing it. Something Adam doesn't seem able to do.

| Good signing, and not on overseas quota neither due to family heritage.

Not sure whether the quota makes a difference. I doubt Leeds will have more than a token overseas players. Will mainly be made up of British, and homegrown.
Sounds a good signing. Is he a Peacock type player? Sounds different to a Kylie type, but could he fill the Peacock role long term? Or are we looking for a change of tact, and him and a.n.other looking to share Peacock role?

Just incase we needed another player in the squad that's all. He's obtained an English passport and has confirmed he wants to play for England.

I may be wrong, but I seem to remember someone saying that the quota system is either no longer in effect or wont be. Non-fed will stay though, which he will count on.
Great signing by the way.

| Having read the rumour last week from Moley on Twitter, I watched the recording of last Mondays Knights v Eagles game to see how Cuthbertson went and have to say was impressed and said to the other half that I'd be very pleased if this rumour came true. Hard grafting, solid in defence, drove the ball in often, most times broke the advantage line and had a few offloads as well.

Will count on the Non-Fed Trained rules though. But like Gotcha says we won't be anywhere close to that anyway with just Moon, Delaney, Cuthbertson & Achurch on it.

| As posted on the rumours thread it makes the squad for 2015 interesting as GH has said the whole squad are signed up which I hope isn't the case.
With Tonks & Baldwinson returning ,Yates yet to play and Foster to return I'd hope 2/3 are moved on that's without mentioning Grange and Mulhern who hopefully get retained but possibly sent out on season long loans.

| I can see Baldwinson becoming frustrated with the odd call up here and there next season. So far in his short career he has not exactly displayed much staying power or patience. Expect to see him at Wakey or someone similar after a season or 2.

| And then in 4 or 5 years when he's matured into a top class forward he'll end up at saints or wigan and we'll be bemoanin why we never kept hold of him while leuluai and peacock toil on for 80 minutes week in week out half dead into their early 40's.

| If our quality backs are to flourish, we need some more muscle up front. Cuthbertson & Baldwinson/Tonks added to the squad for next year have got to be steps in the right direction !
Just need some pace at half back & we should be okay !!!

Well it's strange GH said that Cuthbertson is effectively replacing BJB in the 25 man squad. Shouldn't it be that he's replacing Leuluai?
Also wouldn't be surprised if Keinhorst is moved on along with L.Briscoe, and Duckworth hasn't really had many games at London.
Foster should be given a chance. His tackle numbers are quite amazing considering he's in such a poor London side......389 tackles - only 11 missed tackles.

Look at what happened to Achurch he earned his chance which is what Baldwinson has to do. His spell at Bradford gives him a chance to show he is ready, up to him to prove it.

Or even better example Singleton. Baldwinson should get some games next year but shouldn't expect (or become frustrated) to be in the 17 every week. He's still 19 and Leuluai and Peacock will be gone by the time he's 21 and the door to the first team becomes more clear at Leeds than any other club he could end up at near the top of the table. Show patience for 12 months and he could go on to be one of the key parts of a new look Rhinos team moving forward over the next 5-10 years.
With the signing of Cuthbertson it does change things. Had we not signed a prop I'd have said give Leuluai another year and go with a prop line-up of
- Peacock, Singleton, Leuluai, Baldwinson/Mulhern/Yates (fighting for the last spot in the 17)
With Cuthbertson on board we can go
- Peacock, Singleton, Cuthbertson, Baldwinson/Mulhern/ Yates.
No entirely sure how Yates will go but probably worth a few games next year as given the nature and length of his injury I can't see us seeing the best of him in the remaining time left in 2014.

| Interesting signing, going well in a struggling Knights side this season.
Gives scope to move one of Bailey or Kirke on, contracted or not.
If Baldwinson thinks he should be in the 17 of a top side, week in week out, then he's deluding himself. Hopefully his failure at the Warriors will have taught him some humility and patience.

Not sure in what way Baldwinson failed.
He was playing regularly for their 2nd team, and very well by all accounts. Wouldn't be so confident Kirke and Bailey would get in that same 2nd team.

| Besides his very good offload game the thing that really stands out for me about Cuthbertson is his leg drive in the collision
If Kylie decides to go around again we will look pretty useful with JP,Cuthbertson and Singleton in the front row

So why is he back? He admitted himself that he couldn't see a way into the Warriors first grade, despite it looking like a car crash at times this year.
Presumably he didn't go to NZ with the intention of spending a year playing in the domestic comp then coming home?

Listened to an interview with him on radio Leeds, and he did not come a cross as a player who is prepared to wait, wants it now not tomorrow, can't see him being at Leeds long if he is not high up the pecking order.

Every player should want it now. Back yourself and give it your all. If you are good enough you are old enough. If the lad thinks he is good enough I don't see the problem. You are only going to learn the game and improve by playing the game more at the highest level.
I bet the ones moaning about his tongue in cheek comments, are the same ones moaning that we didn't give Amor a chance also.

| Good signing is my initial thought. Should be a good bridge signing between the old guard going and new blood breaking through. Hasn't he been playing at Lock a fair bit this year?
Although a cautionary word, the club did speak to buderus before we signed him. That didn't work out so well last time!!!
On Baldwinson I think there is a lot of presumption going on. Because he went to Worriors he is impatient and wants first team football or he is off. To be honest as an 18yr old wafted money under his nose and a trip down under cannot blame him to be honest for taking the opportunity. Time will tell but I don't see it as a bad thing that he wants to be playing now.
With the signing I would like to see personally both bailey and kirke moved on. Particulary if kylie goes round again and baldwinson shows up well for Bradford

| I haven't seen an NRL game for about 4 years, so I know bo diddly about Cuthbertson. We needed a fully grown front rower for next season though, as I'm not convinced that Baldwinson will be ready to be a regular first teamer at Leeds yet. Our squad seems a bit thin in the front row at times and I'm welcoming of a quality addition.
I sincerely hope the likes of Baldwinson and Tonks want the world right now and are chomping at the bit for their chance. They will, in reality, have to wait a bit. How they react to that wait is up to them.

| WRT the comments that there are things in his game Bennett doesn't like hasn't Bennet signed him twice?
Is Kirke out of contract this year?
WRT Baldwinson it's up to him. He's got his chance at the Bulls this year and whilst it's great he's chomping at the bit I hope his Australian experience has taught at least one thing, patience.
