Just watched the state final and Agree with AC’s comments about Jenkins, he did well although it’s hard to judge the level as second tier.

Blease had hinted we were after a serious 8 but it appears we have not got that player.

Given the pack needed attention I have a few concerns about Jenkins and Palasia.

Jenkins is 23, has never played in NRL, has had a fractured sternum, 2 serious ankle injuries and a knee reconstruction.

Palasia has had a scarcely believable 3 ACL’s , an MCL , a PCL, a broken ankle , broken hand and a fractured shoulder.

Next season could be determined by how often these 2 , Holroyd and Gannon can get on the pitch.

Against a backdrop of consecutive 8th place finishes and seeing Hull KR sign JWH and Hudds sign Tom Burgess, and Catalan sign a host of proven players I would have expected a board with genuine ambition to sign a marquee diesel forward.

I shall keep my fingers crossed and manage my expectations that we can sneak past Salford and Leigh into 6th.

In that case there'll be plenty of interest in their overseas players. I'd definitely take Lafai. Wrong side of 30, but still quality. I like Shane Wright as well.

Didn’t we do something similar with Wellington Albert when Widnes got into difficulty. Anyone signed from Widnes was given exemption from cap and quota for the length of that intial contract.

Salford should have done the honourable thing end of last season and stepped down from SL and allowed London to keep their place. With the IMG grading system this makes should not have happened and makes the game look bad

It doesn`t look like we will be signing Watkins or any other Salford player unless we are well under the cap. A meeting of owners on Tuesday, saw the dispensation proposals thrown out - despite Salford being among the clubs to vote in favour of them being put in place. Many clubs believe allowing clubs to spend beyond the salary cap restrictions in place would damage competition integrity.
