Come on Al it's part of the fun
TBH I'm not actually gloating as I think both us and Cas are exactly in the same boat and always have been.
Both schemes are just that schemes. Cas have the planning permission but let's be honest that's a given. If a developer wants it and has clients with clout he will get planning permission, money will always clear a path.
Money, that is the key and the only factor no one is clear on and no one on here or on the Trinity site hand on heart can say they have that rather important component in place.
In both cases SHOW ME THE MONEY!

Indeed it is a great contribution which offers pause for reflection, given that we've now got six pages of a thread started by a Wakey fan, talking about Wakey, on the Castleford forum.

It is only 'open' in the sense that you need only register once to access all areas. That aside, this particular portion of the whole is pretty universally accepted as being 'the Castleford bit'. Indeed, I understand the Castleford mods have the power to ban people from the Castleford bit of RLFans should they deem it necessary to do so.
That's not the point though is it? The point is to expose your sarcastic response when a Cas fan had the temerity to imply that 'the castleford bit' had been hijacked by Wakey fans.

No, not really, and yes I most certainly do see 'why'. HTH

| Quote ="vastman"Sorry you are correct it was 7000, I plucked my figure from memory.
Your bitterness to carry on your personal vendetta against me is to be admired, however in your haste you clearly didn't look at your own average gate.
I actually credited you with 1000 more than us when in fact it was a meagre 500 - Oh dear. This further bust the Cas attendance myth - does it not.
Obviously I offer my humble apologies for being a bit random with the exact figure knowing as I do what a pedant some posters are. However I'm happy you have proved my actual point with your scrupulous research far better than I did - thanks
'" Personal vendetta, don't flatter yourself Vasty. Believe me I have no personal vendetta.
If you look at this seasons average gate now we have two teams that are going pretty well, our average attendace is 8052. So that would fit in with your 1000 difference quite nicely. I would compare Wakies ave attendance for this season (to be fair to Wakie and of course yourself - vendetta or no vendetta )but I can't seem to find it anywhere, but I don't believe (I am generalising, not making a statement of fact) that they have changed greatley from last season.
A difference of 1000 people may not be a huge difference but it certainly adds up over a season, and Wakie is considerably larger than Cas. Half of Wakies problem is the ground, I must admit standing in the rain?snow etc is enough to put some less hardy souls off.

TBF that includes Salford, Catalan and Warrington (who didn't travel well this year) non of these are great crowd pleasers. The only disapointment was Bradford but that one is open to debate. The only time to take an average is at the end of the season so lets wait and see. The only realiable data is last years which as proven was a difference of 500 which really isn't much to fuss about.

Whereas we've had huge followings from Harlequins and, er, Salford to help boost our figures.

Great, hope that makes you sleep better at night!!!
Honestly l don't see the big deal!! It really does not seem to holding us back half as much as some suggest or would like!
Yes you average more than us.....but that is not stop us putting together a team that is arguably more competitive than yours! It does not stop us generating a great deal of money through our corporate facilities, it does not stop us developing our young talent........and imagine what 'we' could do if and when the new stadium is built!!!!

Yes i would, but maybe if you look back at the last few years you may see the point.
Bigger crowds have not really helped have they ( well they have helped you survive relegation and come back up for sure) hey i don't care anyway i'm off to Hull to enjoy a game of RL played on grass.

I was not disputing any of that (Except I don't agree your team is more competitive than ours, I would say from the league table we are pretty evenly matched). We have been discussing crowd figures and thats why I commented on that.

quite ironic that whilst the argument over who as the biggest tally-whacker continues no one picks up on the fact that the biggest attendance of all the games was when we both played .
very true cas have a great following , but so many other fans of different SL clubs normally state that wakey bring more than a lot of other clubs including cas to their grounds.
we all read the crap about belle vue and the "I'm not off to that @@it hole " on this board , unfortunately that's the case for many would be wakey fans . A few years ago i did not take my kids to BV at all , but took them to warrington , hull , wigan , huddersfgield because i was more comfatable with the set up.
i dare say that i think all talk is academic until we both have are new fortresses and then and only then will this pointless argument ever be solved.
BTW my mums really hard and i know where some of you live

| Sorry to hi-jack the 'average attendance' debate, but can the figures for all SL clubs be trusted? After all there's no way HKR are averaging the figure quoted. I once drove within 50 miles of CP on game day and the queue for season ticket holders only was phenomenal, their average is nearer the 125,000 mark I suspect!
