If Basil can get the two NRL forwards he's after and a utility back to replace Mathers then I think we'll have a far more competitive squad than 2012. Maybe also sign Mitchell for numbers.

I think hs contract expires this season and he was not offered / turned down (not sure which) a new deal. Apart from the Wakefield game, he went very well for Cas and I'd like to think we'd be in for him if he was available. A back line of Owen, Williams, Shenton, Webster, Carney looks top eight material. |

Not exactly inspiring is it to see we have 19 senior pro's, 5 youngster's (Clare, Atkinson, Martin, Fleming, Johnson) with no more than 10 first team games between them and 6 school leavers. I know we failed with Steve Nash but surely there are a few players in the Championship (no one mention Brierley please!) who could strengthen our squad? |

Until an injury I thought he might be OK - massive gamble, huge. Potentially brilliant, potentially not playing at all.
Widnes have released him like we did Isa becuase he didn't play enough to warrant a deal, but that doesn't mean he couldn't.
Too risky, we're thin enough without a one year ranger finding his fitness back with us, ultimately his family and career have been t'other side of the hills haven't they
