| It's because he's a Cas player. If he was playing for Leeds or Saints, everyone would want him in.

| Can't say Shenny's put a foot wrong in any of his games for England. He's hardly stood out, but nobody has

I thought he had a decent game too, but can't say I heard anyone slagging him off where I was sat, although many of those around were Cas supporters, maybe those who watched on TV could give their opinions and let us know what the pundits had to say about him. Have to say that Tony Smith must have thought he did ok to select him again.

He did nothing wrong buddy, i'l tell you why they will have been slating him, because he doesn't play for Leeds Rhinos, Saint Helens or any other "popular" club.
And to you who was slating the guy, give him a break. He deserves that spot and even if he's far from greatness yet, you need the experience to get there. Cheer on your country for gods sake!!!

On the vt people seem to constantley slagg off his defence even though he made more tackles than any back in the last two games and has missed two tackles out of 40 odd in those games. Someone else said he offered nothing attack even though he scored more tries than any other centre, i guess that means no centre in sl offers anything in attack then!
Compare that to lee smith whose defence has been worse, has given away penalties and whose only contribution has been to score a walk in try where the only defender opposing slipped onto hi a*se before he got to him. For someone reason though everbody seems to think he's a much better choice for centre.

| Im abit fed up too of folk slagging of Shenny. He made 21 tackles on Friday, more than the aussie or kiwi centres on saturday.
He will be up against Hodges, who is a great ball handler but isnt as bigger
threat than Inglis.
I think Shenny will do ok, he can raise his game against
better opposition....good luck Michael!

| Did not got much ball or room to move today BUT he did what he could, at least he looked interested in the first 40. Given time it may well turn around for him.

Was certainly England's best centre to do. That tackle on Slater to get him out of play was world-class.

| Him, Tompkins and Hall were fantastic on our left side, Australia got nothing down that side, shame we can say for our 'experienced' heads of Smith and Maguire down the right

| First half today and the ball just didn't get passed across to Shenton's side. I don't think Shenton could do much more than he did. Second half and Shenton was a bit more involved. I thought he did well and deserves his place against New Zealand. BTW weren't all the Aussie try's down the opposite side of the field to where Shenton was.

I was very pleased by shenton was our top back in defence (the combination of ellis, shenton and hall outwide was inpenatrable for the aussies), caused two aussie knock ons, forced an aussie player out of play, made meters out of dummy half and made an offload under alot of pressure that if roby had took could have resulted in a try. Cant recall him making a mistake or giving away a penalty.

| Im pleased Shenny did well, limited with ball in hand but defense was great. We could have found a centre/wing partnership of the future in Shenny & Hall.
The other side of the field where Mcguire & smith defended was a joke...love to hear the Leeds fans give excuses for their s***e performances

Crabtree made a difference when he came on, but Shenton didn't see much of the ball because England just didn't play it to his side of the field.

Any rating that put shenton on the same level as mguire and worse than smith really are worthless. Those two were responsible for pretty much every aussie score.

'" mcguire and smith were rubbish, but to be fair the aussies targeted that side which put shenton and company under considerably less pressure. imo apart from crabtree, burgess and tomkins in the second half, they were all fairly average. the aussies took their foot off the gas in the second half, the game was already theirs. shenton should be one of the first choice centres. to be honest the english haven't got many decent centres when compared to the aussies and the kiwi's. we seem to lack the same desire and aggression and will to win, that they have.

However, despite this, Shenton made more tackles the the others and did not put a foot wrong all game.
