To be fair mate I'd rather still go to show my support for the team through the bad times but 2day was a way of showing the officials our feelings. 90% of the team put in the effort, it's just a shame most of them aren't up to super league standard.

But on the matterson issue, he'd already walked through the crowd (after shoulder barging an old man who stood in his way trying to question him) and only had the restaurant stairs to contend with but decided to leave through the scargill gates.

A new stadium certainly will alter the clubs financial situation.....it will probably financially cripple us for the next 20 years or so! All for the love of SKY!

You misunderstand me. You can hire Elland Road and invite everyone along but unless you've put some actual thought into it you won't get maximum effect. I'm neither for or against Matterson/Wright. I suppose you could say i'm a passive but interested observer. I just don't think organising a protest 20 hours before it's due to take place and then having 2 old guys having a whinge is the best way to get yourselves heard.

A few years ago at Saints, there were calls for protests etc.

However what happened was that a few "leaders" from the Independant Supporters club wrote to the club and said "On behalf of the fans can we come and have a chat with you?". The club agreed and as far as I am aware there is still a dialogue between the club and the Independent supporters.

The think to do is get yourselves organised and try to have a civil chat with them.

Just to clarify I thought I refered to our finishing bottom after we were promoted with "my gap" year comment but reading it back it is rather vague so I am sorry for that. As far as us being one of a few full timers in the league this is true and was a big benefit but I was talking about how a team that had been soundly beaten by widnes early in the season peaked brilliantly at the back end of the year and we were totally out of sight on the pitch and I just think TM deserves a little credit for that Its just my opinion but no team has the right to win any game or league and as far as us knowing the rules and exemptions when we went down I was not saying that we were cheated or that it was not fair just that under the circumstances (and believe me I could write a book on the circumstances) we were a tad unlucky to be going down and I was only trying to make reference the difficulties TM had to contend with without a lot of preparation.
Just saying.

Super League wouldn't be the same without Cas, don't think you would miss out on a franchise.

The people of Castleford are straight talking, that's all. What you see is what you get. If we could see 4 or 5 youngsters coming through each season, and bricks starting to rise into a stadium we'd all be happy.

But all we are getting is hot air from Matterson and Wright......a right pair of balloons!

The main gripe i have is the size of our squad or lack of. i said to a friend at the game friday, that we are playing clayton and netherton who were initially released by the club, but signed back up after failing to find a new club. but what gets me is who did the club plan on bringing in to replace them. i doubt they had any intention of bringing in anyone new which would have meant an even smaller squad.

the facts are as i see it too much spent on too few players and we have a coach is unable to get the best out of what we have at the moment. why? why is it the same players are a shadow of themselves last season?

I think you need to get out more. Cant thing of anywhere else where yesterdays result wouldnt have attracted mass abuse from the home fans yet many of ours actually clapped the team off. When you consider every other club has probably won more home games ( and definitely suffered fewer drubbings) over the last 2 -3 SL seasons, then look at the hysteria after the odd heavy loss by such as Leeds, Hudds, Bradford and Wakey I'd say by comparison Cas fans have had the patience of saints.

I think Netherton brings us some speed around the ruck that Raz seems to have lost. If only Kirk had Raz's rugby brain we would have a good player

Clayton however..... Well i've aired my views on him before. Complete waste of space. How he came back to us i'll never know. Just pray for Widders to get back soon (never thought i'd say that!!) and he won't get in the squad

Agreed! I don't know what they pay Kirk...perhaps £30K or so. Would you pay 4X that for Hudson, on a 3 or 4 year deal?? NO CHANCE!!

i also think kirk had a decent game agree with the speed from dummy half, but we all no that the repayment he will get from matterson will be a few weeks in reserves like last time, or join micky wainwright who i my opinion is 1 of our un sung heroes, never does anything that special but solid and few mistakes and will run thru brick walls, how does he get repaid, here u go mad mick have a couple of weeks out of the squad.

I think what people fear is that we end up with another season like the first time we went down, But its bad when the crusaders are above us

When he first came over here he was overweight, lazy and could barely run let alone make a break or a tackle

He has improved massively over the past few months and looks like the type of player he should have been from day one

I dont think he has ever been lazy, from what i hear he trains harder than anyone else at the club, and doesnt drink, and that has been the case since he joined the club.

Personaly i think he's one of the best player we've got and one of the few that seem to be able to turn a game.
