The empty warehousing in the area belongs to Leeds CC on the industrial estate at Oulton (opposite Newmarket Lane) so it is no suprise they are against the idea if it means they lose further business to WMDC, especially as Warburtons (the bakers) plan to move from there in September and move down to Normanton where they already have premises.

As opposed to Wakefield fans being biased in favour of the plans rather than being objective and realising that there are obvious flaws and stuff - already mentioned in the statutory responses - which could potentially delay planning.
All this "jobs" malarky doesn't mean anything. You can build anywhere in the country and it would create jobs.

| Quote ="deeHell"York Court properties are expecting to receive outline planning permission within the next 2 months, regarding the new stadium development. Wakefield Trinity are to be anchor tenants. This will be followed by full planning permission. Construction is expected to start within the year. The facilities will included state of the art training facilities that will be open to all the public in what will be the ultimate community project. Been community based project it's been made clear that all the district teams are welcome to use these facilities.

Just because you have written "This wil be followed by full planning permission." Does not mean it wil happen, are you on the board that decides? Thought not. From where I am sitting (I don't claim to have any inside knowledge on your stadium), but it does not look like it is going to be terribly straight forward as you might think I am afraid.
Also if Wakie are to be only tennants, why are they part funding the project? I have never given money to build houses I have rented in my younger days? Surely they would be part owners, not tennants? Can anyone smell something?

I'll ask the same question of Wakey! Why do they want Cas to share at Newmarket along with every other local club?

York Court Properties and the community trust wanted Cas to play there not Wakefield Trinity! As owners they will do everything to maximise there return on invest from the facilities. It's called business! Cas wanted Wakey to play at Glasshoughton cos they are skint! To summarise, in your head:
Projected owners at Newmarket ask Cas to share = good business sense
Projected owners at Glasshoughton ask Wakey to share = desperation
You do see how ridiculous that makes you sound, yes?

As I understand it, it seems likely that Cas welcomed Wakey because as things stand Cas only have the funding to kick off a staged build, ie: two or three sides at first and completion later. IF Wakey had come in then maybe the whole thing could have been done at once? It's also a far more pragmatic approach - given what the council said - to pursue the clearly most developed of the two options with a view to both clubs sharing it. And of course, there couldn't possibly be any thought of Cas being willing to put out a hand and save a fellow RL club from oblivion, is there?
ATEOTD nobody outside the boardrooms of the companies involved really knows what's going on, but the one thing I am sure of reading this and similar threads is just how far some people are prepared to shove their heads in the sand.

It sounds ridiculous in the context you say it, but we all know we are leaving out one important home truth. Thats the fact that funding is available for Newmarket and not for Glasshoghton! | =#0080FFAnother thread about the same thing? Excellent.
As I said elsewhere, why do Wakey fans insist on coming on here and rabbiting on about our stadium when they've got their own to talk about?
Same goes for some Cas fans really. Who cares about the Wakefield stadium? If it gets built or not, it's not important to us.

| How i see it, RW welcomed the feasibility study out of respect for a council trying to help out both clubs. The council are helping both clubs and if they decide they can only do so much, and that they are looking to help just one location then both clubs should at least hear what they have to say. both clubs could have still said no after the feasibility study had been carried out. RW never said we would definitely share a stadium either at GH or NM, however he has said that if it was at NM then this might never happen from our point of view but would look more closely at sharing if it was to be at GH. He also was noted as saying that we would continue with our stadium plans no matter what the report said.
From Wakeys point of view, they must have felt that GH would come up best option in this feasibility study and if this was the case then that would see the death of Wakey (which was confirmed last night on the SL show). Wakey then decided to show some balls and be upfront and tell all that sharing, more specifically at GH was NOT and option. This does not suggest that Wakey now have everything in place to build, it simply says that they felt that a ground share at GH would not be beneficial to the future of WTWC.
From this we seem to have a certain few Wakey fans still suggesting that all this meant Cas do not have the money to build and that Wakey have everything in place, otherwise why would they turn down sharing? It's time a certain few individuals got rid of their total hatred for each club and put a little more thought into everything that is happening. Both clubs have got lots in place, but have parts of the jigsaw missing. Both clubs need to work hard and fast and get something in place which will secure their SL future.

You're an amazing individual. A poster who thinks that everything he writes is gospel while all that others write is no where near the truth. You come on here spouting you know so much, yet we all know it's just the usual crap banded around the local working men's clubs as truth. "Yeah, my mate who owns a doggy salon, cuts RW dogs' hair and he owes him 3 months grooming money, Cas are skint i tell ya". As already pointed out, your posts look ridiculous, you just say things to suit your argument and anything anyone else says you will not debate, you just stick your fingers in your ears and go "la, la laa".

I believe the conversation went something like this
'brent we dont want you at the club anymore'
'But i have a contract'
'Yes but another club that actually wants you are willing to offer you a contract and they might give you another season, we have already said we wont'
'i'll be off then'
