As a poster i am new to this forum but i have been reading it for the last 4 years or so and i feel now is the time that i have to have my say.

First of all as a staunch cas fan for the past 20 years i love the club just as much as anyone and what i am going to say isnt said lightly.

Seriously what is the problem with a ground share be it either at Newmarket or Glasshoughton, none of us will support our club any less wherever we play, surely this goes for the Wakey fans too. First and foremost our main aim has to be to stay in Superleague as the team battled there heart out on two occasions to get us back there so are we going to let a groundshare wipe away all that hard work the lads put in??

As for Wakey they have had there fair share of struggling to stay in the league so will they want to throw that away?

I know we can all say "well we dont mind playing in league one at the Jungle" who are you trying to kid, we all watched 2 years of rugby at that level and although they were great times (because we were winning every week) it wasnt a patch on what we see now.

So for christ sake stop your bleeting the sooner all this can be sorted and we stay in the TOP league the better, groundshare or no groundshare.


Sorry for the rant on my first post but i'm just fed up of reading all the tit for tat comments we should ALL be together on this one.

There's none so blind as those who will not see.
Clearly this is the only factor holding back the Glasshoughton development. Hopefully the delayed sale of WR and the council land loan and other external investments will be sufficient to solve these issues, but denying there are funding problems doesn't make them go away.
Trinity have other issues which need to resolved between the developer, stadium trust and planning authorities. Hopefully this is achievable within the timescale, we remain optimistic that they will be overcome, but there is no point in denying that they exist.

Didn't RW say there's an option of building 2 or 3 sides to start with if theres short fall.

In 2 weeks time we will see the architect's plan's at the leeds game, we should know more then.

I also recall that he said they'd have to have meetings with the RFL to discuss that, and ensure that it was reasonable.

I hate the waiting game, I would love to be able to fast forward a couple of years and see what's going on at the Glasshoughton site.

what about the funding have you got it all in place?

Thats the golden question mate ??? who knows we were told we had funding in place for the 13000 stadia then we would build the 2 long sides 1st ?? Then the council said we could have the land to borrow against ?? then lots of smoke mirrors councils involved

=#0080FFThis remains the unknown factor to the fans. If rumours are to be believed there is a massive funding gap.

However there has been positive news in recent weeks about the Hicksons site being cleared, the confirmation of the £2m land promise from the council and hopefully that will go towards filling this gap. I reckon there is still work that needs to be done though.

I am sure that the club is fully aware that this has to happen, far too much time and money has been spent getting the plans to where they are now and I can't honestly believe that the board and indeed Waystone would be in the position they are now if they didn't believe that the ground could become a reality. In fact, I'm sure Waystone would have washed their hands of the whole thing if they didn't believe it could happen.

I suppose there is thing's that have to be held back RE: finances.
The club arnt gonna show all there hands to all a sundry.

3.5 million visitors to glasshoughton every year,advertising by the side of the M62, for name association alone it would be worth alot to some company?

Positive news I think. If the funding wasn't there Waystone wouldn't have given us the land and the club wouldn't have spent £150K+ on architechs.
