Noble is the one for me. I was fortunate enough to receive his coaching as a junior and its stuck with me more than any other coach and at that time he was very new to it. Would be a massive coup for the club if we can attract him.

That IMO is an unfair criticism of Morgan. Rovers development pathway had been eroded by the absense of cash and incentives that a prolonged spell in tier 2 brings.

And it takes time to see results. Welham (whose had another really good season) and Watts (who hasn't, admittedly) were named to the England elite squad this year. Taylor must be close to overtaking Watts. Sheriff and Cox are highly regarded. I reckon we're about where I'd realistically expected. I'd suggest that Morgan having brought us so far without the foundation of a mature youth development system as positive, not a negative, on his CV.

That said, his going to Cas seems too much of a sideways move for both you and him to make sense.

Mild Rover, I'd suggest not coming on the Cas board to claim Liam Watts as a success of your youth development system.

He's done 3 years at Rovers while still eligible for under-20s, and those are the rules. And the charge I was answering was against Morgan for not developing promising young players. It was not a defence of Rovers credentials for developing players.

The press can talk about it all they want. It doesn't make me want him to join us any more than I did before. With the squad and budget he has at KR he's underachieved and with more limited resources at Cas, I don't believe he'd be able to take us forward. I also have serious reservations about what would happen to our youth policy with him at the helm.

To be honest I'm suprised we haven't heard rumours of us talking to anyone in Australia about the job

While Noble remains my preference I'm astounded by the negativity towards Morgan and I'd have no problem with his appointment. Then again I'm prepared to think back to his achievements prior to this year (his 7th at HKR and probably one too many all round in terms of freshness/inspiration) including that amazing cup run by Toulouse. If we accept TM's done a decent job taking us from NL to borderline top 8 how well has Morgan done with a club which had never even been in SL before he took them up.
