The thread has gone on so long because of the way the situation SEEMS to be changing. All the talk at the moment is us sharing at Stanley. It now very much involves you if latest rumours are to be believed. Im certainly not trying to wind anyone up just asking your thoughts on how would you feel if the GH project does not go through, would the Cas fans accept moving to Stanley?

No no no no no no no! I'm pretty sure that's been answered already in this thread. Are you just going to keep asking until we say "Oh go on then?"

As for these rumours, what there are of them seem to be largely emanating from within Wakefield, not Castleford. Personally I'm not that bothered about what Roy Walker (it's close, but it's not right!) says to the press, or what Wakey fans choose to make of it.

If they put any funds in, it will be enough for a swimming pool. The cost of the stadium will still have to be met. It's wishful thinking to think that the council will give you a few million on top towards the stadium ( we fell into that trap over TP), especially after they have publicly said no money is available to any of the districts clubs for new grounds.

It's no surprise that some Wakey fans have a warm feeling about this situation after the crap we had to endure from some Cas fans on these forums last year. Leading upto the franchises been awarded we were constantly told by Cas fans that we were the inferior application due to our ground situation ( funny how you ignored your teams previous 5 years on field performances). All along your own project was never as solid as what you made out (excellent PR by RW).

Not to mention the ones that came on to gloat about TP project collapsing.

FWIW I'm skeptical about either project even starting before the next round of franchises with the present economic climate but time will tell.

What ever happens and I consider this really important, under no Circumstances should us or Cas share a stadium, we last three years tops before we were forced into a merger. Which would be a disaster but that is another debate.

I bet your not! You choose to believe everything Richard Wright tells you, or should I say what's forced out of him by journalists. Something is not what it seems down your end.

Or maybe nervous Wakefield fans are constantly trying to find fault with our stadium project because they are so nervous about their own, they have to try and drag us down to their level.

No one knows where we are. All we can do is speculate based on what people know or supposedly know.

As far as I'm concerned, what RW says on the SL Show is more trustworthy than what Vasty or any other Wakey fan says - to me anyway.

And I trust him because he got us a SL licence, and he's not failed us so far. OK he's not been the most honest and open person, and certainly hasn't kept the fans upto date, but I believe he's doing his damndest to get this project off the ground and I do believe he will deliver.

It's not a question of IF, it's a question of when. At the moment, that is completely the opposite for Wakefield. You have no planning permission, nobody knows your situation. I wish you all the best as do many other Cas fans, but it would be nice if Wakefield fans would do the same instead of tirelessly trying to find faults in our project or belittle Cas fans.

Not really no. I choose to assess the facts, weigh up the the hearsay and then make up my own mind. I guess it's an approach you're not familiar with?

I don't have any insider knowledge, but I was told by RW that an announcement could be made regarding positive future developments in the next 2/3 weeks. As to what it is about I have no idea and whether we do get these announcements I don't know what it will be about, but this is what I was told.

nothing to worry about at all in respect to the stadium i have every reaosn to believe come 2011 we will be in a big shiny new one. i only hope we play well in it.

whatever wakey may or may not be saying at the minute - the fact is they are miles behind us - no planning application, no feasability study, not even purchase the land, no plans, no architect, no formal agreements just pure hope and plans at the minute.

we will deliver a 15k capacity stadium for 2011 and we will secure our SL - by the way we would be pushing for a A grade licence. i believe we will average 10k by 2011 and with top class facilities etc we will be grade A easy

I wouldn't say that. It seems at the very least to be telling Roy Walker's "let's share" brigade where to get off.

York co properties own the land, a company which I believe Walker owns so that’s not a problem in any way!

As for been miles behind you I very much doubt it, and I am more than sure we will get planning permission as Walker would not have taken it on other wise!

End of the day though I will only believe it when I see it, as much as I believe it will happen anything can happen between now and then!
