I don't know what this lot are on above me, but any fule knows that Cas have never employed a 'hard man', nor will they. Gentle giants the lot of them, who play(ed) the game firmly but always fairly and who on occasion may have been called upon to give a good account of themselves when, due to circumstances beyond their control, things got a bit tasty on the playing field.

Pound for pound though I'd go with Brian Hughes.

Would not have stood a chance against Hartley,Fisher or Reilly these three were hardmen.

As I said Hughes got my vote ahead of those bigger guys because he punched (often literally) so much above his weight/size/physique.

sounds like Burkey,came to wakey with a bad reputation but cant remember where from.Insisted it was all undeserved then lo an behold first game for wakey sent off after about 20 mins!!,great bloke off the pitch tho an spent ages signing autographs an stuff for the kids.

Not sure if he was born on Eastmoor, but spent all his early life there, he had a bad reputation when as a 17 year old he played for the Leeds u19 side.
