| Brian Noble was rumoured to want £200,000 pa last time his name was being linked to a vacant SL post.
I think you need to lower your sights a tad.

| there is no doubt Brain Noble would be an excellent choice, but I think he would cost the club to much as things stand. for me I think it has to be John Kear as imho he will be the best fit for these desperate times as he is used to working under tight monetary restraints & I think is held in high regard by the RFL which can not be a bad thing, I just honestly do not see how the club can take any more gambles with either an inexperienced head coach or another Pi55 poor Aussie.

| How about getting Karl Harrison or Daryl Powell and giving them a go on a 2 year contract?

| I'd love us to get Stuart Raper back.
He was coaching referees up to last year but has since left the post...
Probably out of our league these days, but if we are talking about what we want...

I asked Stuart and he said he would consider coming back as he doesn't have much to do these days.
I told him to get in touch with the club, even if it was in an advisory role to Danny for a few weeks/months it would certainly help!

| ^ dodn't you think Millward had been unsuccessful for too long?
I would be more than happy if Stuart came back and did the exact same as Millward. Why? Cause I know his heart would be well and trully in it.
He's up there as one of the best coaches we've ever had, and win lose or draw I know the team would've been busting a gut all week to try get a result.
I don't think that was the case over the last 15 games for Cas.
It can't have been.... You don't just beat Leeds as take wigan to the 80th minute on a fluke. If the players can hit that level one week then the same team should be able to hit that level (or at least come close) every week.
Different story when injuries hit, but as yet we haven't exactly been crippled by them.
The Leeds game the team played to the best of their ability - since then they haven't reached 25% of that in most games.
If the players don't try on a weekend, then what's the point turning up in the week to train?
It is, and has always been, a case of the harder you practise, the better you play in general. In any sport.
What the players are doing through the week is reflected on game day - and it just wasn't good enough.

When Karl Harrison was on Sky Supermen he said he couldn't understand why a super league club hadn't been in touch with him with all his experience. He never mentioned ever applying for a vacant coaching job so if he can't be bothered applying what does that say about his motivation. If he doesn't apply leave him where he is, he will be no great loss to the game.

Loss to the game? Hes doing a fantastic job at Fax.
I doubt he would take the Cas job to be honest. Same goes for Powell or Kear who are both on cushy numbers. I think the best hope for Cas is to get someone who is working as an assistant in SL. No first team coach in SL or even the championship in their right mind would take the job the state the club is in.

| I have it on very good authority that Noble turned down the position last time because of the limited budget available for the playing department. I doubt that budget has increased.

| if your recent off field recruitment of CEO and Commercial Manager is anything to go by then I would not expect too much in way of a coach.....who is coaching Lock Lane these days ? Looking at the bargain basement commercial team and CEO (All with no real experience and former junior coaches) that has been assembled Cas are planning for life in the championship....what a shame this has happened to a great club

| We at Salford have heard on the grapevine that noble is set to take over after today's game and bringing in a coaching team of Mike Forshaw (conditioning coach) Dave Lyons and John Pendlebury along with Sean Long who we already have. A wealth of experience there for us, I hope you at cas find the right man for the job.

| Gareth Walker on Twitter reckons the Noble deal is done.
Spend full cap, 10-15 players next season, etc.
