| I had a conversation with my brother today, that went a bit like this - Me "I've got a spare ticket for the rugby, do want to come? It won't cost you owt." My brother "No, I left the ground last week feeling I had been cheated out of 80 mins of my life." he too is a lifelong fan, but can't be bothered to turn up (like the team). This will be happening all around the Cas area. It won't stop unless they invest in some decent players. How can they do that when folk don't turn up. Just a thought.

As an outsider looking in. If he's a lifelong fan surely he's had worse times than this being a cas fan?

It does mount up.
I work with season ticket holders who aren't even going to bother trying to get a shift swap to go to nexts weeks game V Hull K.R.
They have been season ticket holders for years as well, the feedback is if the players can't be d and the board can't (or won't) try and find more investment to strenghten the squad why should they bother.
If the players put in a good stint Sunday they may change their minds, but if people like them are thinking like this the alarm bells should start ringing for the powers that be

| Been a season ticket holder for years.
Got one for this season.
Been to 3 games all season.
salford away
bradford wigan home.
Watched the hudds game on tv. That was the final straw.
Just sold my voucher at a loss for the FC game, also contemplating selling my voucher for the HKR game.
Like as been said, it mounts up, then you snap.
I'm just about at that point now.
Once i've walked, it will take the biggest of efforts from the club to win me back.

| Shows how "loyal" our fans are there.
If Super League was even, all teams would have a chance of finishing bottom. You have ups and you have downs; that's part of being a fan.
Guess "Cas Until I die" was absolute rubbish then.
If you walk, you have no reason to complain about the quality of the product on the field; after all, you don't put the money in no wonder we're struggling.

Clearly they are fans that aren't or won't understand our situation. Smacks of band-waggoning to me. Perhaps some of them should bother to go down and speak to the BoD and understand our situation. Then they may just realise how important the fans are.

| Its a tough one but if you aren't happy with a product you wouldn't keep on buying it. You would make your point by refusing to put money into that companies pockets. If fans are that fed up with their teams performance then the only real way to show their dis-satisfaction is to vote with their feet and stop attending. Maybe then someone will sit up and take notice that it isn't acceptable and something has to happen. Its just how it goes with sport i'm afraid.

But if it's the fans that play a significant part in improving that product then surely they cannot whinge that the product is poor when not willing to put the money in?
Clubs cannot live on commercial income alone; and in a small clubs like Cas the fans are even more important. Some people just don't want to get it, preferring to sit and whinge on an Internet forum. About time some people got into reality and went down to speak to those in control, who will make some time to speak to them.

So despite the club treating the fans like crap and offering a subpar product for what is an overinflated price (league wide) the fans should just turn up anyway, paying hard earned money to watch 17 blokes not show any effort and just give up?
RW doesn't listen to the fans either, there's many times where people have offered him genuine ways to make money or improve the club and he simply ignores it.
What this club needs a totally new set up, starting at the very top.
If you want fans to show up, give them reason to do so and not expect them to keep supporting a failing team with no passion and show no effort week in week out. The problem is, the club do expect the fans to turn up no matter how much they cheap out on the squad.
Take this year for example....they SHOULD have added a couple of real quality players to kick on from what would have been a great season had it not being for injuries and a good coach to kick on from what Matterson left, but no, they get a bunch of Championship level players and a Championship level coach and still charge Super League prices, it's a joke.

| I must admit i can see this argument from both sides.
The club can't expect people to flock through the gates when they do not invest money in the squad, there is no point having a great new stadium (if it happens!) with a poor team. We need experienced quality pro's in the squad to bring on the youngsters, not NL1 players and loan signings.
On the other hand, the fans need to stick together and get themselves to as many games as possible and support the team. Players and managers come and go but fans remain constant. I myself am fed up with hearing false promises from the board but I will still support the team on the pitch, especially the younger blokes coming through the ranks. Obviously with the tragic events earlier in the season, we are further back than I hoped we would be, but with players coming back from injury as well, things can only get better.
Everyone needs to pull together but I can understand people's frustrations.

So they've been through worse times but are choosing not to go now?! When our season has been disrupted by injury, our Head Coach has been on compassionate leave and we've had no consistency in the squad or coaching staff alike?
Come on, let's be fair and real here. IM was hardly going to perform miracles overnight with 17 players out injured at one point during training. I bet pre-season was awful; how he would have loved all the squad fit so they can work on everything together as a unit.

That was IM's choice. The budget was there for quality players but he then run the risk of losing our star players. We know have a backbone of our squad signed up long term and with a future budget to build quality around them and depth. Stick your fingers in your ears and go la la la la all you want but you know this actually makes sense.

| Fully, you're an idiot. Are you even watching the same team as the rest of us are? You're outnumbered here by a long shot.
We have taken several steps back from the team we had last year. Our forwards are non existent and we have no game plan at all. Simpy drive the ball up the middle a few times. Rangi then does some fancy footwork for a few tackles and then we kick the ball as high into the air as possible - EVERY TIME!!
We aren't the same team anymore, we're boring to watch. Even when being relegated we've played with heart.
The ground is a disgrace and we've been told rubbish after rubbish. It is simply not worth the money to go and watch the team.

How is that even close to being a good idea? Add 2-3 quality players this year, add another couple next year - you get a stronger team this year with the backbone that was already in place then next year that team gets stronger again.
Oh yeah, you and RW (and Millward it seems) are too stupid to realise you BUILD on momentum, not have a gap year
If the club had added Kaufusi & Paea (possibly Mika too) this team would have at least 2 more wins...and all 3 players are in an area of weakness for the team.

well no
For the money Mitchell, Nash, Griffin & Millington will be on you would have been able to get Kaufusi, Paea & Griffin as well as sign up the young players still.
Did the club look at offloading Hudson & McGoldrick too as an example, get rid of those 2 a year early you can sign pretty much anyone you want and improve the team straight away.
Mitchell was a bizarre signing because he isn't as good as the young second rowers already at the club and Nash is the worst signing any team made in SL this year so aren't exactly good uses of the salary cap.

| You really reckon Mitchell, Nash, Griffin and Millington would be on a shedload of cash? Along with signing Owen, Clark, Milner, Chase on bigger contracts? That says it all; clueless.
How can we offload Hudson and McGoldrick? No one will pay a fee for them, never mind buy them out of their contract.
Mitchell has been a decent acquisition. I'd certainly keep him for next season along with Thompson, Holmes and Ferres. Snitch, McGoldrick, Hudson, Jackson should be the ones going.
2013 is the season that IM will finally get to grips with this squad and will be able to turn it into his own.

Mitchell shouldn't be ahead of the likes of Holmes, Davies and Thompson so unless he signs on low money to be a squad player, he isn't worth it.

Yippee
He's a below average coach and I'm not holding my breath on him signing anyone with what is close to the required skill to be a regular playoff team.
