There's a rumour going round these parts that Cas are about to sign a massive name from a top flight SL club, anyone else heard this in Cas?

I don't want to say the name as it could be codswollop, but it involves a swap deal with Rangi Chase.

It's true. We're in a swap deal with Rangi going to Warrington and us getting Matty Blythe. I heard we're throwing in 10k too.

I don't think it's Matty Blythe who's coming your way if what I hear is right...guess we'll have to wait and see.

None whatsoever, doubt we would end up with a better player than rangi so its not in our interest, rangi wants to stay at cas so its not in his interest either, i seem to recall him saying not long since when he signed the 4 year deal that he hoped it would stop the constant silly rumours about him leaving, i guess not.

Besides the wakey fans have told us that we are spending 90% of our cap on him so i doubt anyone could fit his wages in

Rangi will be here for the long haul, his Mrs is pregnant and she is from Altofts - can't see either of them going anywhere unless he is prepared to travel.

Plus another club would have to buy out his contract which will cost them a lot

Cas would never swap Chase. Poor rumour.
Apart from the fact he is their crown jewel, the fans would string up who ever made the decsion.

You'd have to be swapping him for Lomax and Roby for the same wage bill to make it a break even

If you read the OP, I wasn't trying to start any argueing, it's just quite a few people have said the same thing. It's also nothing to do with Leeds players either.

Reading your forums its for myler. Quite strange that this rumour is all round leigh but no one from wire or cas know anything.

Whats more bizare is that cas would be willing to swap one player for a much inferior one straight after a signing a new deal for the player.

Just to make it that littlle less sense the deal would involve us getting a player that will miss the first 3rd of the season, when we have an already injury hit squad.

This deal doesnt make sense for cas or chase. And to be honest i really cant see wire fitting him, under the cap, me thinks someone in Leigh is playing silly buggers with you.

From another point of view, Warrington are a very rich club, Cas arn't. So they can offer a transfer fee you'd struggle to refuse. Also, Wire lost Louie Anderson, Jonny Clarke, Lee Mtchell and Matt King (their biggest earner) to bring in Stef Ratchford, Chris Hill and Trent Waterhouse. I'd say with Mylers wages cut out, they could easily afford Chase.

Also, when Ben Harrison bets the ever living s**t out of you, for good reason. It's time to go.

The deal also involves Matty Blythe going to Cas too.

Like I said, it's just a rumour, but as a neutral fan, it seems plausible.

I know but rangis opinion is the important one and he wants to stay, he couldnt have done much more to make the fact clearer.

the figure would have to be be record breaking, and any such transfer would result in the chairman having to step down, it would be a very bad move for cas no matter what the money, we would lose alot of of merchandise and ticket sales, many cas fans would turn away from the club.

Not that this is ever going to happen of course, this is the 3rd rangi to warrington rumour in the last few years, as well as the rangi to hull, rangi to wigan, rangi to leeds, rangi to the nrl rumours.

Think the rumour he is thinking about is that Rangi is going to Leigh on a dual contract!

So the Man of steel signs until the end of 2015, and you think a rugby league club will splash out a transfer fee for him. How much would you expect this transfer fee to be? Wasn't Myler a £200k transfer fee, for a teenager! How much would Wire have to spend to take the MOS away?

The RFL are buying Rangi Chase and loaning him back to Cas.

Ah! But hopefully like Odslum it will be a Seven Figure Sum.
