As an outsider looking in, I'd say for the improvement in defence alone Powell has been a massive improvement for Cas.

I also think letting Chase go was a good move. Cas now appear to play like a team, rather than the Pied Piper with his followers!

Exactly. They all seem to be playing as a unit instead of expecting Chase to create all the plays. It's great to watch.

Average scoreline this year is 33-11 to Cas.

If you only give up 11 points a game then you're going to be winning 90% of the time. Defence is an effort thing, Powell has them putting in that effort and it's great to watch.

Indeed, its like living in a dream world watching them now than it was under Millward.

Even when we got some dubious calls against us we seem to play stronger, I will add we appear a lot fitter as a team than, probably when Stuart Raper was coach.

Sky said he wasn't injured and that Powell just gave him the night off for a rest.

they said on sky cas were just resting him this week and praised powell quite a lot for the decision especially when owen scored his third try

The kicking game is much better this year hence less defending in key areas.

Ah right, I tuned in a bit late so missed the teams at the beginning. It's a breath of fresh air to have such depth in the squad that we're able to actually give players weeks off.

Definitely - Chase was good with the ball in hands but his kicking game was v. hit & miss

I can see a massive difference in cas this year and that is you look like a team. Powell did it at fev and destroyed a decent widnes team more than a few times whilst there with tough defence. Table looks good with your mob up there and my vikings just behind, keep it going boys and best of luck for the season apart from when you play on plastic!!!

Congrats on a great start to the season Cas, a Widnes vs Cas grand final now wouldn't that set the cat amongst the pigeons.

Cas were great last night BUT defensively didn't really get troubled. we were so predictable all game that it was easy for you.
you must have been close to a SL record for the number of off loads too, we just couldn't stop them
Also a mention to your supporters, hats off to them for coming over in good numbers and making it a great atmosphere (id ditch the flag though, its a bit naff

The flag is quality. The team are playing great, a joy to watch. Genuinely think we will beat Wigan. Up the fords!

Great performance from you tonight it didn't help that we look totally clueless in attack and you had good support outsung the Leeds fans and there were twice as many of them

Great support from Cas,i said going to the match i was looking forward to the atmosphere cos you lot are always loud.If it would've been a close game,it'd been fantastic.

it was a close game for 55 but I never felt we were going to lose it once we had 13 back on the field.

as a KR fan what was your take on the Welham incidents?????????

My goggles are on, but to me Finn let go once he knew he'd got his arm and there was very little in it, and Welham's headbutt should've (though probably will) be fairly severely punished.

What do you think?

Sin bin sufficient for me Dave regarding the Finn one. The Ginger "nutter" might get a warning though.

I thought Welhams reaction suggested something untoward had gone on, couldn't see the big screen well enough to see a replay though. I think his little head butt was born if frustration and wouldn't be surprised if he gets a few weeks off.
