Quote ="Orfie"Well I'm sorry to report that was not the case, I was in the lower tier block 132 and at halftime a man was knocked out after being attacked in the men's toilets by 2 Castleford supporters, I cannot comment on what happened but 4 well aged Cas supporters seen it happen in the toilets and were very upset and disgusted at what they had just witnessed in the toilets, that 2 Cas supporters had just physically attacked some guy with no colours on to the degree that when he came out of the toilets he collapsed onto the floor! It seemed to take an age for security to take care of the man until medical help arrived, the man later got to his feet but had cuts to his face/around his nose but seemed to be ok. The older Cas gentlemen who seen this happen in the toilets did say that they would recognise the 2 supporters if they seen them again!
Also, not sure anyone seen this but there was some kind of trouble in the lower tier of the prawn sandwich seats to the right of the tunnel (you know the people that don't return to their seats until 10 minutes after the 2nd half has kicked off) not sure what was going on as from block 132 it was hard to see other than lots of stewards breaking up some people just before the game ended!
All in all though it seemed to be a very friendly atmosphere other than these two incidents I saw.'"
The Leeds fans were magnificent too Orfie. Sorry to hear about that incident, but you know full well that out of a crowd of 77,000 that there is bound to be an odd incident or two. There always is no matter who is playing. I knew hundreds of fellow Cas fans sat around the ground and I only heard of a couple of bad reports. Friends of mine (a family) were sat in section 141 row 14 and a female had to text the stewards over two middle aged Leeds fans shouting abuse and wanting to fight everyone. Another family at the opposite (South stand side) reported that two Leeds fans started making sarcastic, nasty and inflammatory comments towards the Cas fans there once they got in front. A couple of Rhinos fans told me a Cas fan where they were sat, was also making similar comments. However I spoke to countless fans on the day and apart from those incidents I never heard anything but good reports about each others fans.
Certainly where I was sat there were many fans of both teams and every one was excellent, no gloating, no bitterness and resentment, all excellent. So as I said out of a huge crowd just 2 or 3 minor incidents was not bad, although it would have ben a lot nicer if there was none at all.
