TO BE FIXED |

| We were gutsy in a way, but very poor in the silly penalties and unenforced dropped balls, we made. I saw 2 or 3 penalties that were penalties that were totally needless. When you are obviously going to be up against it from the start, the last thing you need to do, is piggy back the opposition up the field and cough up possession. The brilliant interception from Matty Bowen killed our last resolve, but even if we had made it 6-6, at that point, to be honest all I think it would have done is keep us battling for a bit longer, and make the final score less damaging.
Hats off to Wigan though, they came out were totally ruthless and efficient and made sure of the spoils. They also had men missing but they also have a good batch of promising youngsters that can step in at SL level adequately, or more. Which brings me to one of our concerns. Despite our good showing this year, apart from Dan Fleming when he's fit, we have not any. I have been talking to two or three people who take a very active interest in our junior set up, and they all tell me, we have not one youngster at present apart from DF, who is capable of playing in SL right now. Our under 15 batch, which will be next years under 16's have some good likely lads but between them and the first team there is nothing apart from a lad called Will Maher, who looks promising, but as a 17 year old forward he is nowhere near ready just yet. It is to me a concern as other clubs have youngsters who can step up to the plate in times of injuries.
So if that is correct, and I have absolutely no reason not to believe it, then it will be 2 or 3 seasons, before we have any youngsters ready to step into the breach.
